Obviously really good defenders might make less clearances, tackles and interceptions because they play for a really good team which dominates possession, probably why McGuire's stats are so good. However, you can look and see that he tackles, intercepts and clears in large numbers, so he puts himself about and aerial duels is on a 1v1 basis, so can be judged independently.

From what I read, we had a £9m bid rejected in Jan that may be reconsidered IF the sign their no.1 target AND their star CB signs a new contract... If both of those things happen and he becomes available, his availability will attract more attention so that's why I suggested putting in a £12m bid NOW before we end up in a bidying war with west ham and several other clubs...

Hoedt looks like he can bring the ball into midfield, so does acerbi. Rather have a sweeper centre back with abit of pace to play along side him.

But you said talk was 9m maybe enough. So why offer 12m nothing to stop Wetspam offering 13/14m so you still have a bidding war but you have upped the fee for no reason.
