ealingfox Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 If true, £14m ffs! He's got a year left on his contract, Sevilla don't want him and they signed off a £7m move for him when he was worth more! We really need some better suits in at the club.

Sevilla were just being smart by getting him to sign a long term contract after the Sunderland deal died knowing that he would be sold this summer and that they could ask for more than 7 million .
deejdeej Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 I'm sceptical about any rumour, but this one excites me!
RoyFox Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Technically superior to the majority of our midfield, can play CDM, CM and CAM. Wins the Europa League 3 out of the last 4 seasons. "Not good enough for Leicester". You couldn't make it up
SheppyFox Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Didn't they boss our midfield in both legs for the most part? He was a part of that midfield in one of the games I'm sure?

Heis minutes played per season are pretty low... but he's idolised by their fans for being a great club man. We might be buying their Andy King. I don't know the fella, he might be brilliant, but there are enough things for people to be quite reasonably worried about.

But for the price of Jeff Schlupp's sell on fee, we get a midfielder superior to Amartey, King and most likely Matty James. Ideally it would also be good to get a CAM in the form of Ziyech/Boudebouz. But to be scoffed at, out of hand for reasons such as "Sunderland being interested last year" is laughable.

Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Are we actually question if Iborra is up to Leicester standard? Seriously. A yes yes from me. His technical ability is better than what we have.

Big worry for me is his mobility, not sure how he fits our current system!

The contract he was on when he was in talks with Sunderland only had less than two years to run so that is why i feel Sunderland had the 7 million accepted. all in this article http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/sevilla/transfer-talk/news/vicente-iborra-signs-new-sevilla-deal_282179.html

If he's to rotate with Ndidi and Drinkwater I'm happy as long as we recruit a creative CAM/deep lying secondary striker also (Iheanacho might fill the secondary striker, contrary to opinion that's his preferred role).
