SheppyFox Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 I'm pretty sure we'll be competent in more than one system next year good signing.
lcfcsnow Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Why has his price doubled in a year? He's not even been a regular this season so how does that work? It seems any player we want we have to pay double.

Big worry for me is his mobility, not sure how he fits our current system! Quality players make up for a lack of pace with their positioning and ability to read the game. Two of Iborra's best traits.

The contract he was on when he was in talks with Sunderland only had less than two years to run so that is why i feel Sunderland had the 7 million accepted. all in this article http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/sevilla/transfer-talk/news/vicente-iborra-signs-new-sevilla-deal_282179.html http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sevilla-fc/story how odd !

FoxinNotts Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 For every Inler there's a Cambiasso For every Mendy there's a Kanté Currently, the good news is that we have Ndidi and Drinkwater, so if we add this chap, we are only bolstering our ranks, not trying to replace one that has left.
SheppyFox Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 We may have knocked them out of the UCL but they made us look terrible at times pretty sure he's going to be good enough to challenge DD.

Doesn't seem to be working for us like this with Mahrez!
vanity Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 This is the sort of versatility we need to take the next step. A player like Iborra will allow us to flow from a defensive 4-4-2 to a more offensive 4-3-3 rather easily, which we really can't now, as Ndidi needs DD back there with him, and DD would need to move fwd. We need at least two MFs with a bit of class who can handle the ball, especially if we get Gibson, as we will suddenly have two CBs who like to bring the ball fwd and can actually do it well, but we'd want a pivot or two in the MF to help. DD and Iborra might be enough to do it, though I'd still like a wing who can pass with some imagination.
