NotTheMarketLeader Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Chilwell playing the 10 role? Hes not a winger either as you had on another post.
Babylon Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Reading their forums, there seems to be the general gist of him being their leader and an amazing captain for them. None of them see him as a starter as they have better players, but from the bench and as another option to change things he's critical to them as he's completely different to what they have.

Ricey Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Don't under estimate the importance of signing players that are leaders. It's something we did so well at for years, but moved away from it last season. We've lost Wasilewski and Morgan/Huth may have reduced match time next season, so we will need leaders. Where is going to fit in, I've no idea, and pace is a concern, but he has the ability to fit in with the Premier League style.
ARM1968 Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Stats mean nothing unless from the same league. I was twice the player Gylfi is according to my last season in the Melton and Rutland District League. Stay clear of this bloke in my opinion. Likely to be shite.

Fair, Man Utd should probably steer clear of that Cristiano bloke given that stats in that league mean nothing.
Babylon Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 A bit like when we went for Mendy I'm left scratching my head and wondering how and where he fits into our team. He's not going to replace the CM's IMO. He's not got the legs or creativity to replace Okazaki (not saying Oka is creative, but we're needing someone creative there). Are we getting stuck with another bench player?

We have James, Mendy, King, Amartey all as back up, with Barnes and Lawrence also in the mix for ACM. You could argue there are question marks about all of them still other than King. I'd rather get answers on them before buying just another backup. This fellas minutes played per year is pretty garbage, he's not been a proper starter for a long time by the looks of it. Decisions need making on outgoings because we're just stockpiling players and not really giving them time to prove themselves one way or another.

He's not Andy King, he'll be pushing for a place and he may well get it as Ndidi is still young and DD's form and fitness hasn't been erratic. Plus we could be playing three in midfield more often next year.

He's been at a club the last 4 years with better quality than we have so he maybe able to force his way head of DD and WN

eddylcfc Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Checked SSN and got excited thinking it was Vitolo. Still - I like this guy. Would fit it nicely in a 3 man midfield with Wilf and DD.

Rudkin that. If we offered 7m everyone would be on his back telling him to just pay the money

Just watched the full game back against us at the KP. he started deep, then after half time, he was pushed up front more. He could easily be utilised to rotate with Okazaki, or he could be used as a sub for Drinky or Ndidi. Good option for that money imo. He just looks more accomplished than James, Mendy, Amartey and King.
SheppyFox Posted 3 July 2017 Posted 3 July 2017 Wasn't Inler 32 when we signed him? This guys only 29?
