Shakey's target

He's basically said that he's not a fan of setting 40 points as a target because we want to be aiming higher than that. The targets that will be set will remain internal.

Like that he said 'not a fan of 40-points targets' and that targets should be set higher, not only to avoid relegation.

Also like that he said he's big on 'team ethic' which seemed to have gone away last season as opposed to season before. That and he's also a fan of the shorter time away from England as well (games and training in HK).

Seen that as a bit of a dig at Ranieri too and I can understand. You don't go from champions to then expecting to simply beat relegation the season after.

agreed.

Should have been way more ambitious and I'm glad CS is recognising that and setting his stall early.

I'm relieved to hear that, setting the bar too low was one of Ranieri's (peace be upon him) earliest and biggest mistakes. To suggest we were underdogs against Millwall .

It Worked great when we were winning the league by taking the pressure off the players but the new season needed a new approach.

Also, wtf is that tan!? I can see why he brought in Appleton, no player is taking Shakey seriously in that state!

Glad we're not aiming for 40 points tbh, that talk annoyed me.

Find him saying we should be aiming for higher with the players we have AND targeting as quite promising.

It seems that Michael Appleton has gelled in well already that's positive.

Didn't realise also he's an absolute fvcking UNIT.

I always find it a bit weird that managers can get a bit 'out of shape'. Shakey spends his entire time around fitness - fit people, fitness equipment, fitness advisers, dietitians, etc.

Surely you'd feel compelled to be in good shape yourself and find it relatively easy to achieve that given the equipment, food and help you've got around you all day long?

EDIT: Regarding the video though - all sounding positive from Shakey. Let's hope we make some signings to match the '**** 40 points' ambition. Also, Appleton is a ****ing unit.

All the food is high carb energy food, if you eat like a footballer but don't train and play like them you will pile on the pounds quickly.

A sportsman diet isn't a healthy one, pasta for breakfast for an early kick off for example, they pack away tons of calories and expel tons of energy.

I see what you're saying but I didn't mean he necessarily had to be throwing down the pasta and chicken like the players.

You'd think the club dietitian would put together a little something different for Shakey if he requested it.
