I think it's hard to argue that they haven't had an impact, but we don't want them forever.

Atmosphere aside it's also a horrendously wasteful thing to do printing 30,000 banners at every home game. I can't be the only person who this bothers?

Yes but i think it's time they were at the turnstiles for those that want them to collect and use. It would also give the club a clue to how popular they are.

Never used mine but wouldn't want to deprive others from having them.

Agree with this.

I do think they help/ helped but totally agree with the printing of 30k every game is over the top.

It might seem over the top but when you consider the price of a match ticket, and the price of producing a clapper (£1 each?) and the fact they are easily recyclable  - its not so bad. You are paying for a match experience and the clappers only add to that.

They are embarrassing. Make us look like a poxy tin pot club.

I don't like them and I've never ever used mine but they make people join in - often just sat their banging along to no tune but noise is better than nothing.

I can guarantee the club will be paying a lot less than £1 per clapper. You're talking pennies considering the quantity they order in bulk.

But I do agree, I think they add to the experience and help create an atmosphere. Before clappers people were moaning there was no atmosphere, at the end of the day it creates noise from those that would otherwise choose to do nothing. Personally I don't use my clapper that's left on my seat, but my girlfriend does. Personal choice I guess.

can't argue that we had a pretty shit atmosphere 3 years or so ago and it improved a lot and that coincided with them being introduced (and also us getting good, who knows it would probably have improved anyway).

served their purpose for me. never used one but don't knock anyone who does. agree that it should be an option either when purchasing a ticket or when arriving at the ground. the west stand/family stand would probably have the majority keeping them, other areas of the ground would prefer to use their voices/hands etc.

Rather have £19 off the price of my season ticket. Voices and hands are free.

That works out £570,000 a season (not including cup games) for something that saying 10k actually use? its just seems a lot. I hope and very much doubt the club at paying £1 each probably more like 25p but still its a lot to be shelling out for something that isnt used and just goes in the bin agter the game.

In fairness, I think the cost was worked out at 8k per game. Still money which could be better spent elsewhere.

They're brilliant.

I sit in the east stand around a load of old pensioners who would never clap, sing, jump up and down or whatever. They're happy to sit there banging their clappers along to the chants.

I don't use one because I'd rather use my hand and take the fresh one under my seat to give to my nephew.

Honestly, what is there to argue against there? They've upped the atmosphere ten fold.

I voted no because I hate them, but on reflection they probably have been a good thing lol. I don't notice them so much in the Kop, but I sat in the West Stand for the EFL Cup game with Chelsea and they drowned out the chants from other stands. Sounded like we were waiting for a long jump.

They've served a purpose but it's time to get rid now.

Keep. They gets people involved. Without them I'm the only person in about a 400 seat radius that makes any noise or movement

Nailed it.

I don't have a season ticket so end up watching games in all parts of the ground. The Clappers are brilliant for the quieter sections to get involved. Though I love the Kop end, not all sections can be like that.

Think they've had a good impact and created a real good atmosphere.

I don't usually use mine much but keep it to stick around house hahaa!!!

Unfortunately always some tossers use the clappers and just bang for no reason or just hit friends with etc. That annoys me when you're tying to watch the game

Reading and Fulham use them, we're in illustrious company at least.

Manchester United too.
