A similar league finish this year and similar turn over will still see us get around £150m. That's enough to cover costs moving forward, yeah I wouldn't be expecting a load of £20/£25m signings like we have been doing though. We don't need to sell, whether they think they can buy players for less that offer as much. Then that's a football decision. But I don't think there is any pressure financially to make that decision. Yea possibly but I wouldn't be surprised to see one go

About another £30m income each year from tickets, shirts, sponsorships etc. There was a cash balance of £31m in the 15/16 accounts. Wages will have jumped significantly since the title win, but are still "only" likely to be around the £100m mark. Our turnover last year was probably £230-£240m. We could do with trimming some fat from the squad, and I'm sure we will do. But I don't think it's a case of needing the money. Not this season anyway. Nuge and Wood were about £4m and £3m respectively; Kramaric went for around £9m; De Laet went for £2m?! Schlupp was £12m (adontbelivit) Kante went for £32m Zieler went for £2M and Hernandez went for £1.5m I think. So that's a decent income of £65m plus, most of which was pure profit. Of course we were fined £50m for inflicting Gary Taylor Fletcher on someone else, so its swings and roundabouts.

Upfront we got about £10m for the lot (it says so in the accounts). A lot will probably be extras. Your point still stands though!

It's a tough situation really as its hard to judge the future however and in reality that 200m aint coming in every season and we have the opportunity to sell two players we paid 1m for for £35m+ each... surely one will go We also got £13 million for Jeffrey Schlupp which pretty much paid for Ndidi. There's at least £30 million we ought to get for moving on the likes of Musa, King, Ulloa, Benalouane and Mendy, possibly £40 million.

Ric Flair Posted 8 August 2017 Posted 8 August 2017 If Inter want Mahrez then can we please have Murillo, Brozovic and Barbosa in a straight swap deal.

So it's realistically left to another club in the PL to come in and bid. Mahrez will be putting himself in the window for the first few matches, which can only be good for Leicester.

Maybe some bits lost in translation - in any case, their max isn't enough so it may as well be over!
Almo-Fox Posted 8 August 2017 Posted 8 August 2017 monchi DS of AS Rona : Monchi: "Sono ottimista per natura. La verità è che la Roma sta facendo tutto il possibile per acquistare il giocatore. Sarebbe il calciatore più costoso della storia della Roma. Però fino al momento non ho avuto riscontri positivi dall'altra parte. L'offerta fatta da noi è importante, la priorità non è solo Mahrez perché abbiamo fatto tutto il necessario e ci stiamo guardando intorno per altri calciatori". we made a third offer ( the highest in roma history for a player ) and I'm positive and waiting for a positive answer from Leicester we are working in other alternatives to mahrez PS : inter Milan and spalettti has meet mahrez s reps
CosbehFox Posted 8 August 2017 Posted 8 August 2017 “I’m optimistic by nature, but the truth is that Roma did everything possible to buy the player,” Monchi insisted at Gregoire Defrel’s presentation. “He would have been the most expensive player in Roma’s history, but up until now we haven’t received any positive feedback from the other side. http://www.football-italia.net/107368/‘roma-did-everything-mahrez’
Ted Maul Posted 8 August 2017 Posted 8 August 2017 Good. Does this mean we don't have to keep reading about what that tool has to say any more?

foxfanazer Posted 8 August 2017 Posted 8 August 2017 Did everything possible except put in a bid in the same ball park as our valuation
