Agree with this

there are plenty out there that would go knowing there is a much better chance of picking a ticket up etc either as above through additional season ticket sales bought or otherwise

I don’t even look anymore, I’ve had so little success since we got promoted. I’m not shelling out for 3 memberships when those that have them only complain about them. It’s all or nothing for me.

For the record, there are tickets available vs Huddersfield. If you cannot get them via the site, get in touch with me.

What's the point in expanding the ground if it's only going to be full four/five games a season? Yeah 45,000 would probably go tonight, but 32,000 didn't turn up last week against Palace.

I think a bigger stadium is an important step forward. While we might not fill it always it shows progress, shows ambition, gives us growth capacity and unarguably (tongue in cheek) makes us the biggest club in the East Midlands! I acknowledge there is risk, however the opportunity to legitimately increase capacity doesn't occur often and I think we need to grab it while it is here (or otherwise confine ourselves to a perennial yo-yo club on the upturn for the immediate future).

That's the point.

Season Tickets haven't been on general sale for years. If all of a sudden there was another 10,000 seats available many would take the plunge to snap them up and reorganise their groups to go with friends and family members who aren't able to buy them at the moment.

We also need to try and grow as a club and make some distance between us and all the other 30,000 attendances type clubs. It will give us a higher profile and more credibility as a big club and thus attract more income from sponsorship, etc, a self fulfilling prophecy.

I'm all for developing the infrastructure at our club as an investment for the future whether that be the stadium or the training ground. The last thing I want us to do is spend all our income on players and wages and inevitably get relegated a few years down the line and have absolutely nothing to show for it and be no better positioned for a good future than similar sized clubs like Derby, Forest, Wednesday, etc. Make hay whilst the sun shines.

Great post.

Bottom line is were the biggest club in the Midlands (let alone East) - by a long way. Let’s keep it that way

Sure Florest, Baaby and Villa can talk of greatness generations ago. So can Preston etc. The World moves on and the increasing global importance and influence of the Premier League over the last few years means that Leicester is held in far higher regard to a great many of the old so called 'big' clubs.

if we add another 9k-10k seats we'll fill them the vast majority of games - and further feed this growth cycle we're in.

Villa are a much bigger club than us, always have been.

This expansion will put us on a different level to the rest though.

This! If you were to judge it on past glories, Manchester City wouldn't be a "big club" either. Time moves on...

Man City have always been a big club.

Prior to their recent glories they had previously won the League twice, the FA Cup 4 times, the League Cup twice and the UEFA Cup Winners Cup once.

Add to that their large and loyal support and you have a big club without any doubt.

Not sure if the 32,202 crowd last night was a record attendance at the KP/Walkers or not? If not it was very close. :scarf:

Newcastle boxing day was.

Nah,  not while they’re in the second tier they’re not!

We're better at the moment, but they're still a much bigger club. Bigger fan base, bigger ground, far more trophies, spent twice as long in the top flight as us- it's not even a contest. Any other Midlands club is up for debate, but not Villa.

I couldn't watch us play United last night as it was a complete sell out before it went on general sale unfortunately (so the website said anyway), Have bought a few tickets recently off my fellow foxes fans on here before but the United game I couldn't so personally would LOVE for our club to expand our stadium ASAP! I used to be a season ticket holder but had to give it up due to moving away for a while, used to travel up and down the country for numerous away fixtures (even crappy games against lesser opposition in carling cup etc) but now am unable to watch the club iv supported all my life play due to the club growing in stature but the ground not growing with it. Personally I believe we have got the best owners of any club in the top flight who truly care about us city fans... Genuinely I do!!! So in the new year I hope they try as hard as physically possible to find a way to expand our beautiful stadium so us (the foxes faithful) can support our team week in, week out. I know it's going to be tough to expand our ground though due to its surroundings but if there are any club owners who can manage it... Then its our owners! I also want to wish you all a lovely Christmas and that includes us the blue army, the players and top level staff... And also ALL the lesser known staff who make match day run smoothly. We are very lucky to have such a fantastic club and it all comes from ALL OF YOU GUYS AND GIRLS! Thank you for everything.

Nah - you’re looking backwards, not forwards!

Loved Filbert Street but Freeman's Wharf has become iconic even though it has a short history. It should be listed, a national treasure.

Hope the owners never move the club elsewhere.

I would only support it if the seats could be retracted somehow, so like a mobile stand.

Because if relegated (and it will happen at some point) 40k would be too big.

We still had good crowds as a proportion of the 32k when we were outside the PL.  There's  no reason to not believe that if we build up an improved core of support that the majority won't stay if we went down again. It just makes it more important to do it ASAP to give us the best chance to build that core. Every season is a missed opportunity.
