the club generate most of their income from tv

Imo, expansion of the ground should be used to increase the family stand area and drive a larger younger audience. The club needs to make sure that local youngsters have the best chance of being supporters of LCFC rather than 'glory boys'.

True  -  we must stop them becoming Sheep or Florist fans.  Letting this happen would be far more harmful to the youngsters of Leicestershire than exposure to Greenhouses gases.

That's not a risk anymore -  no glory there.  No local kids should want to support manc clubs, lpool or any London outfits!

I would only support it if the seats could be retracted somehow, so like a mobile stand.

Because if relegated (and it will happen at some point) 40k would be too big.

Villa closed the upper stand so would we

Have supported City for the past 60 years and although I lived away I could always get a ticket when I came home. That was when we were 'bad'. Since we became 'famous' it's impossible to get a ticket home or away and it seems a pity City could attract bigger gates and a broader fan base if more could get to see them. There must be many like me who would watch them if they could and plenty of young people in the same situation. Now City are pretty well established in the Prem perhaps the time has come to increase the capacity of the stadium which was rendered a possibility in the future when the stadium was first built.

I remember that! I was there!

Likewise and was funny when it first happened but there was then a moment of worry as he fell over! Think we won that game too

Drew 1-1. Darren Ambrose with a last minute equaliser for them, having scored a last minute winner for Ipswich in the boxing day game the year before.

This is all nice boys, but anything concrete on the ground expansion?

Seems to be so going round in circles imo.

A few people suggesting from their sources something is happening at a particular period, but the club have remained quiet on this aspect for quire a while now

Who's bigger Bournemouth or Villa? Swansea or Leeds?

Haha, nice try. Neither of them won the Premier League less than two years away and were in the Champions League quarter final less than a year ago! Both PL clubs you mentioned will probably be in the EFL next year.

The last time Villa were relevant was almost a generation ago. Like a number of relegated clubs if they don’t find their way back into the Premier League quickly then they’re going to find themselves drifting further away.

Didn't someone claim 6 months or so ago that we were expanding the West stand and that all the offices were being relocated over the canal or something lol

Unless we're expanding both then at least one person is wrong!

What we wouldn't want to do though is increase ticket prices to pay for any stadium expansion! I've just had to pay £53 to go to the Liverpool game as I could only get a ticket in the home end. If we continue to progress in the prem and are comfortably finishing between 7th and 10th every year then I don't see why not. But we still need to make it affordable for fans as increasing ticket prices will only make it harder to fill a bigger stadium!

Are we ever going to get any meaningful news? Is this being taken seriously as a project by the club are has TV money now rendered the need to get more bodies in the stadium irrelevant as long as it looks packed?

I'm not alone in being desperate to get hold of a season ticket and a whole generation of young fans cant even get into the stadium!

More than a few empty seats against Huddersfield (although not as many as Man City, West Ham, Stoke etc this week).

Did you get one of those ??
