18 Foxes Set For International Action

- Ten Leicester City players featured in the latest round of international fixtures on Friday night
- Kelechi Iheanacho scored for Nigeria in a 4-0 World Cup qualifying success over Cameroon
- City striker Jamie Vardy was a second half substitute as England defeated Malta 4-0 in Attard
- Stopper Kasper Schmeichel kept a clean sheet as Denmark overcame Poland at Telia Parken

Following strikes from Odion Ighalo, John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses, Iheanacho came on in the 61st minute to help the Super Eagles maintain their perfect record in World Cup qualifying.

Wilfred Ndidi, meanwhile, played the full 90 minutes and Ahmed Musa enjoyed an eight-minute cameo as Nigeria opened up a strong lead in the first leg of their clash with the African champions.

Elsewhere, Jamie Vardy replaced Dele Alli on 70 minutes as England ran out as comfortable 4-0 victors over Malta, courtesy of Harry Kane (2), Ryan Bertrand and Danny Welbeck efforts.

As a result, Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions preserved their two-point cushion at the top of European Group F in the race to qualify for the World Cup in Russia next summer.

Second placed Slovakia are England’s next opponents, at Wembley on Monday evening, where City defender Harry Maguire could be in contention to make his senior international bow.

Vardy came on late for England in Malta.

Danish Footballer of the Year, Kasper Schmeichel, on the other hand, earned his 25th cap for Denmark in a resounding 4-0 success over Poland at Telia Parken.

Thomas Delaney and Andreas Cornelius opened up a commanding lead before the break and Nicolai Jorgensen and Christian Eriksen struck later to seal the result in Copenhagen.

Another Foxes star to feature for his country was Daniel Amartey, who played out the entire match as Ghana collected a 1-1 draw with Congo in Kumasi.

By picking up a point - after Thomas Partey’s late equaliser - Ghana stay third in African Group E with two points from three games, while it was a first point of the campaign for Congo.

With Ben Chilwell among the starters, England’s Under-21s began their UEFA Euro 2019 qualifying campaign with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against the Netherlands in Doetinchem.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave the visitors a first-half advantage but the Dutch earned a point when Gervane Kastaneer headed an equaliser shortly after the half-hour mark.

Winger Demarai Gray also was handed some valuable playing time for Aidy Boothroyd’s young Lions, replacing Kieran Dowell in the 72nd minute.

It was a successful outing for Academy Player of the Season Alex Pascanu with Romania Under-21s overcoming Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-1 in Zenica earlier in the day.

With two wins in as many games, Pascanu’s side hold top spot in the fledgling Euro 2019 qualifying Group 8 standings, following a 2-0 victory over Liechtenstein back in June.

Finally, Development Squad midfielder George Thomas was in fine form for the Wales Under-21s, helping set-up two and converting their third in a 3-0 win over Switzerland.

Just watched highlights for the England game, nice to see that the commentators for Welbecks goal didn't even bother to talk about Jamie Vardy tackling, winning the ball off the Malta defender in his own half and setting up the opportunity for the goal, only cared about Harry Kanes cross.

Riyad flew back to Algeria and will join back up with the squad after this game. Probably couldn't catch a flight in time

Algeria playing badly, fielding an inexperienced defence. However Nigeria's pretty much won the group already so there isn't much riding on the next few games.

Rage quitting this national team. No organization, no spirit, the defence is a shambles, can't carry the ball properly, most of the team doesn't know what are their jobs exactly, the midfield is negative! Arghhh?

Looks like Algeria have little chance of qualifying for Russia '18 now.  Am I right?

We'll have a proper look of him tonight then against one of the best midfielders in the world, and that is Andy King of course.

It's a pretty good list of players that have won 3 trophies and play with Gareth Bale:

Ronaldo, Benzema, and King to name a few.
