On behalf of everyone at Leicester City Football Club, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your incredible support throughout the 2016/17 season. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for renewing your Season Ticket ahead of the 2017/18 Premier League campaign, we look forward to welcoming you back to King Power Stadium next season for what promises to be another exciting campaign.

As we look forward to another season in the Premier League, I would like to draw your attention to the Season Tickets Terms & Conditions, in particular condition 50 which stipulates that those sitting in the Family Stand must be seated with at least one Under-18 as part of their party, and at a ratio of a maximum of two adults per junior concession. The Club would also like to remind all supporters that they must use the correct concessions as stated on their Season Cards, for example, a supporter aged between 22-64 cannot enter the stadium on an Under 18 Season Ticket.

From the first game against Brighton & Hove Albion this Saturday (Saturday 19 August 2017) and over the course of the season, the Club will be enforcing enhanced matchday security processes to ensure that the integrity of the Family Stand is met. As a result, supporters will be asked to present their Season Cards by a club official, which will be checked to ensure that supporters are using the correct Season Cards and adhering to the Season Cards Terms & Conditions.

If a supporter attempts to enter the stadium on a card that does not match age band (proof of age may be requested), then the supporter will be required to upgrade the card for that particular game (up to four times a season). If the supporter does not upgrade the card, they will not be granted entry into the stadium as stipulated in condition 52. This will lead to the card in possession being blocked and an investigated launched, with a potential ban put into place.

If a supporter is unable to attend a particular game, as per the Season Card Terms & Conditions, they are able to upgrade their Season Card on four occasions throughout the season. Supporters are advised to make this upgrade prior to the match - this must be done by the Season Card holder only.

As more checks are taking place, the Club advises all supporters to arrive at the stadium as early as possible to ensure that supporters who are going through these checks enter the stadium in time for kick-off. However, the club cannot guarantee entry prior to kick-off should there be a delay whilst the checks are in progress.

Yours Sincerely,

Ian Coulton

Head of Security

I thought this was going to say they were introducing steps to stop us from getting bombed but no its about ensuring they can make a bit of £££. nice.

Hmmmm...... It seems they're having a bit of a crackdown on STH's taking liberties. First the shop discount and now this.

It's all lip service. They'll maybe check a little more for the first game in the Family Stand and then that is it.

Usually it's a young woman who stands observing the barriers and I'm sure that they would not have the confidence to interrogate fans, even if it was a male steward too for that matter.

If you were on minimum wage working in the stadium, would you really go out of your way to have a confrontation with a grown man, possibly plied full of alcohol? I think not.

Only time we will see real levels of security at a premier league football match is when a bomb goes off. Remember folks making money is about being reactive rather than proactive.

I think you have that the wrong way round.

Why is some Ian, head of security, thanking fans for their support and renewing season tickets?.......

Oh, he's softening us up for some bull shit about the club making more money disguised as some sort of security crack down playing on people's fears...

I've got nothing against making people pay for what they get, but that statement has such a negative tone....

I agree. Magnified by the insincere start that thanks people for renewing season tickets.

They really want me to think this head of security is down the KP everyday working a extra hours to keep us all safe and stopping by the ticket office on the way home to check the latest season ticket stats and then skipping home reminiscing about the support last season?

Would get more respect if the club had directly released a statement with a link to all t&cs rather than just writing about the ones that make them more money.

One of the worst things about being in the Premier League this.

The Championship was great for some things, an adult could buy an under 16 ticket for about £8-10 and the stewards didn't care.

Beat me to it. I was about to say exactly the same thing

What someone paying the correct price for something they have brought is the worst thing about the PL. I agree the prices are high but it doesn't make it right for adults to use children's tickets!

Most of you would think shopping lift is wrong, but this is OK?

Come on people you can't moan about them wanting people to pay the correct price?

Same. Really can't believe people are taking offence to this. If you're an adult, stop trying to sneak in on a kids ticket on the cheap.

Not really as some have clearly said it's the tone and method of getting their message across.

i'm not abusing the system but find it patronising as the first part of the article about the incredible support etc obviously doesn't apply to the people the message is aimed at.

I also had to read through paragraphs of guff before I realised it wasn't meant for me how many of those it's aimed at would have stopped reading before it got to the relevant part.

If people are cheating call them out clearly don't pussyfoot around the issue.

Aiming this comment at nobody in particular, I have noticed a general trend that those that are most 'vocal' on these pages can be remarkably thin-skinned about something such as this. Honestly, it may not be subtle or very well put together, but it's asking grown ups to behave like grown ups, essentially. Finding reasons to object to it is just so much deflection.

I don't really see a correlation to be honest, if you were cheating them on a sell out I would agree with you.

The club even turned a blind eye to it back then, they knew it was either a group of lads in the ground buying beer etc or just another few empty seats along with another 10,000 empty seats, may as well take a bit of money than none. It was almost a negotiation.

Whilst I think the wording is a little off, I don't disagree with the point of it.

If people are buying a kids ticket and then using it for an adult every week then it's just plain fraud.

There is a procedure for upgrading to an adult, and it's pretty straightforward so no need no to do so.

If people get busted for breaking the rules, then tough.

I had an U22 season ticket for the title campaign and a couple those guys that check the colour of the lights when you scan your ticket just could not comprehend that I'd somehow turned 22 during the course of the season when checking my driving licence.
