Make of that what you will . . . . Why are you so bitter because he's left for a bigger club? What do you expect? We're Leicester not Manchester United. Players want to win trophies - Drinkwater said in his goodbye that he wanted to get another taste of winning the league (and probably more) - a club like Chelsea gives him this opportunity. The best he can hope for staying with us is staying up and the odd domestic cup run. I'm not pleased that he left - man I really did like having Drinkwater as our player - but he's given us five years service - five great years - and was a vital part of our spine winning the league and playing in Europe. You, me, nobody would ever dream of winning the top flight but Drinkwater helped us achieve that. If he wants another shot at that then fair play to him, who are we to stand in his way, thank you Drinkwater for making dreams come true. 5 years service, two league titles, a run in Europe and the club made a £30million profit on his transfer alone. One goes out, one comes in, nobody is bigger than the club. But words you've used in this thread (and other related threads) about Drinkwater should be reserved for really horrid former players (ie Wise) not a player that helped us win the top flight for the first time ever ffs. He should get a ground full of applause - especially given Knockaert did (who did reject a four year contract Pearson offered him) who never achieved half of what Drinkwater did at the club - on Saturday if he features.
Leeds Fox Posted 5 September 2017 Posted 5 September 2017 I think it's time Kelechi gets a start. Not that anyone deserves to be dropped, but surely he has to be included sooner rather than later.

Fair play that's your opinion bud and I respect that just find it "odd" he is suddenly not injured anymore. My opinion is he must of been Having us on, or it certainly appears that way

I'd go with Slim as Chelsea's defence struggles with physicality. To add, we'd help ourselves with no easy goals off set pieces But slim isn't physical against defenders at all
Guest BlueBrett Posted 5 September 2017 Posted 5 September 2017 The incorporation of the new guys into peoples' suggested 11s is really exciting Kasper Fuchs, Dragovic, Maguire, Simpson Mahrez, Silva, Ndidi, Albrighton Iheanacho Vardy Just look at that! Best team we've ever had and still plenty of talent on the bench

HighPeakFox Posted 5 September 2017 Posted 5 September 2017 As someone suggested elsewhere though, these injuries require some complicity within the club, if fake injuries is what they are - they must know what's going on.

Why do they? If I say my leg hurts, who's going to prove me wrong?

Pretty sure even the best physios are heavily reliant on patient feedback. Even if I'm wrong and they do have magical diagnostic powers, it would take a brave man to disregard the protestations and send a multi-million pound asset who is complaining about being in pain out onto the field.

I'm sure there are many different scans and tests the physio's can put the players through to work out what is wrong with them. I definitely think clubs do this working alongside the player and agree to not make the player play if there is a bid likely to come in.
Monsell1976 Posted 5 September 2017 Posted 5 September 2017 Saw a clip of him in training with Chelsea earlier, looked injury free, and ready to play.

Thing is though, once you're no longer a Leicester player, that's that. I don't mind people clapping them, but I don't mind people booing them either. They are just an opposition player now, after all. I absolutely detest Chelsea and I'm not going to be supportive of players wanting to play for them. Drinkwater has a right to do what he wants but I'm not going to act like he's a hero when he'd rather play for them than us. He was one of our best players and I'll be livid if/when he starts getting picked for England just because he's on their books rather than ours. It's pretty much inevitable and huge middle finger to us as a club. Here's hoping we create an extremely hostile environment for every Chelsea player on Saturday and helps us win the game. That's all that matters.

knitro Posted 6 September 2017 Posted 6 September 2017 I feel if Okazaki had scored last week it'd be a harder choice, but with the travel back from Asia it makes sense to put Kelechi in instead.
Tuna Posted 7 September 2017 Posted 7 September 2017 A minutes applause after 14 seconds for Adrien Silva
justfoxes Posted 7 September 2017 Posted 7 September 2017 Really would love to wake up to a report in the papers Headline saying FIFA accept responsibility for the mishandling of the Silva registration to Leicester City and fully accepts his registration to @LCFC Silva then plays for us against Chelski we're 2-2 in the 89th minute and he steps up for a free kick on the edge of the Chelski box and curls in the winner last kick of the game we win 3-2 !!
ARM1968 Posted 7 September 2017 Posted 7 September 2017 1-2 Chelsea, late winner for them. Doubt Drinky will figure - although his mystery injury may clear in time for a spell on the bench.
ousefox Posted 7 September 2017 Posted 7 September 2017 Think we'll go at them and get an early goal.
Livid Posted 8 September 2017 Posted 8 September 2017 The whole Silva farce has taken the edge off this for me a little. Hopefully we'll be going with Vardy and Ihenacho up front.
Grebfromgrebland Posted 8 September 2017 Posted 8 September 2017 It's a shame that we're playing teams that normally paste us all in a row, it's really hard to determine where we are as squad at the moment. It also means that we've not had games against teams that allow us to build any confidence so I'm going for demoralising loss here. We have Gray unhappy, Mahrez unhappy, Maguire didn't make any of the England squads, Drinkwater gone and Silva not in... not the best time to be playing the champions. 1-3
