The ref tonight wasn't bad. We were.

I've certainly seen worse refereeing performances. He certainly wasn't biased either. He got things wrong both ways. Despite the result (which is all that matters) we were poor today.

That's refs in European competition until you reach final stages or have massive matches.

We can't use officiating as an excuse.

Could have been 3 down by half time. Was the ref making them shoot wide? lol

It's not "blaming" the ref if you say he had a bad game. You can think we have only ourselves to blame AND think the ref was poor. It's not mutually exclusive.

Absolutely, but he certainly wasn't biased. He just wasn't very good.

Thats the problem when so many European games are played over 3 days, some of the officiating isn't up to what we're used to.

He didn't make any outrageous calls. People saying its the worst refereeing performance they've ever seen need a reality check.

Our fans prefer Micky Adams hard working but ultimately unsuccessful types to the current team and will regret not appreciating them.

We as a a supporter base have always preferred hard working players regardless of ability and have  a weird issue with exciting players.

Bloody Yakubu all he does is score goals - this was a genuine moan at the time!

You see some of the stick the current team get and it's baffling at times. If these lads didn't care they wouldn't be taking us to Europe and winning trophies.

I'll add to that people that take selfies in front of an event they've gone too see.

An old school friend I've got on Facebook did this a couple of years back. He'd gone to see the start of the tour de France when it was in the UK. The moment the riders passed he's taken a photo, half filled with his head, looking away from the cyclists, missing the very thing he'd gone to see. Ridiculous.

I attended the Euro 96 final at Wembley with a seat level with the half way but towards the back of the stand at a cost of 120 pounds. The view was superb. The chap several rows down from me placed a small portable TV set on his lap and watched the whole game in black and White!!!!

British democracy at the moment is worse than monarchy. One Etonian twat who’ll screw the country for short term financial gain, or a different Etonian twat who’ll etc while all his mates so on and what have you.

My unpopular opinion: democracy can fvck off. It’s only at most a generation before the rich work out a way to game the whole system and get exactly the same benefits while telling you it’s your fault…

Tell that to people who live in communist, fashist and theocratic dictatorships.

Not sure how unpopular this is but 'Thunderbastard' has to go down with cockwomble and all those other incredibly annoying twee swearing words. They make my toes curl.

You can add "Fam" to that list.

Gary Neville’s rants on English football owners are just cheap populist nonsense.

Saying “we need to stop this” because Derby are going into administration is like saying “terrorism needs to stop”. I don’t expect him to have the solutions but Derby have spent a shit ton of money and failed miserably. No fit and proper owners test would have saved them from this fate.

He lost all credibility for me when banging on about managers getting at least a season as a rule then sacking one of his own at Salford after a few months.

Thundercunt too.

It's used by people who think it's very unique and witty. When they use it they think its really devastating and don't realise its like listening to a Jack Whitehall b-side.

He's right about the core of it but he's a hypocrite. What needs to happen are changes that give fans more voice to avoid situations like the pompey one or the derby one. But he's just as bad working with peter lim, a man who benefits from palm oil and has destroyed Valencia and for encouraging these massive transfers. And for his involvement in sulford
