This actually made me think of my own unpopular opinion:

Allowing a cat to roam is more cruel to other life and sometimes to the cat itself. Therefore all cats should be spayed or neutered with very few exceptions, and with the exception of farm cats or other rural cats that have a dedicated "job", all cats should be kept in houses as dogs are.

Unless you're taking about places like Australia or parts of the USA you'll have to take that one up with the RSPCA and RSPB who both disagree that cats are especial risks to wildlife.

I never said in the middle of the lawn but it certainly wasn’t buried and it’s more than once.

How do I find the owner of this mysterious cat?

Check its collar maybe?

Also if you're trawling through cctv looking for what shat on your lawn then you need a hobby lol

It’s hardly trawling, I work in the profession I know exactly how to find things quickly.

I do have a hobby, I’m enjoying it right now. lol

A cat has literally recently shit in the middle of my front lawn

Yeah I found two huge cat turds on my back lawn the other day. One on the driveway as well.

Could be a fox, but we have about 4 cats constantly circling our garden so it's more than likely one of those.

No wonder people are sticking up for cats, when it's their neighbours that have to clean up after them instead.

Yeah, this one covers the effects they have in the US. But I'm inclined to think that there's no reason for them to be less deadly in the UK than in the US.

Seems there is at least a lively debate on the ornithologist community about it.

I stand by what I say regarding the threat roaming cats represent, and sometimes they get hurt too.

Re. The cat discussion

I've turned my cat into a house cat. Never goes out now. She's much happier staying in anyway as she's the type of cat that is scared of her own shadow. So no killing of wildlife. No crapping in neighbours' gardens. Responsible cat ownership at its best.

Really? So only village folks can have dogs or cats, which I think are two of the best pets for what they give back to owners and the mental benefit that they can have on individuals/families.

Like I said in another post, if a pet is causing someone a problem just go and have a chat and come up with a solution together - most pet owners are empathetic to the troubles that their animals can cause.

From my observation of the amount of defensive posts from pet owners about their pets in last few pages in this thread I doubt it lol

They have ruined it now. Paddy McGuinness as presenter lol I like him but he's nothing to do with sport.

The chemistry between Tufnell and Dawson was good previously.

Much easier and less work.

Same. Not bothered about either cats or dogs personally. I'm okay observing them from a distance.

The group who organised the anti-Ronaldo flying banner, involving an allegation, over Old Trafford had a strong right to do so.

Halal slaughter of animals without stunning causes unnecessary pain and suffering to animals and should be banned. Don’t know how unpopular this is as it seems the RSPCA agree with me

We inherited 2 cats from our kids after they grew up and got their own places (the kids, not the cats). we're burdened with these now, albeit they're sort of ok. Once they've passed, no more pets. Vet's bills, food costs, constant need for attention, worrying when one or the other of them isn't around when they usually would be, bitch fights between them at 4 in the morning. People say we should get a dog. No!
