Rob Tanner has just Confirmed Silva has also just been left out of Portugals squad.

i also think this is a plan to make the case that it is literally hindering his career.. shrewd - Portugal FA on his side aswel.

How on earth could he be selected for his international squad when he hadn't played a competitive game for over a month or even trained with other pros ??

Am I remembering correctly that he was injured (ribs)?  Maybe it's not a conspiracy (even though it's in our favour) and just as simple as that?

Easy really, England are not adverse to selecting a player that is crap and has played badly for months.

Fifa has been asked by the Football Association to ratify Adrien Silva's transfer to Leicester City.

The Foxes agreed to sign the Portugal Euro 2016 winner from Sporting Lisbon for £22m on 31 August, but they missed the deadline by 14 seconds.

Silva's registration was not completed in time with Fifa, and the midfielder has since returned to Portugal.

"The FA has requested the International Transfer Certificate (ITC) be authorised," said a Fifa spokesperson.

Fifa withheld the ITC for the Portugal international, and without it, Silva will not be registered as a City player until the next transfer window opens in January.

A decision from the Players Status Committee is usually issued within 30 days of a valid request, meaning the issue could be resolved by the end of October.

But speaking at a news conference on Thursday, Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare said he had no idea how long the Silva appeal would take, adding "no-one can give me an answer."

So Sheppy m'lad, being a reliable ITK on all things Silva, what say you about this latest bulletin?

I did find the wording of the FIFA statement interesting

didn't mention an appeal by us

talked about a request from the FA to issue his international registration to us

No one knows when this was done?  Was it a day or so after the window shut? Was it last week?

if we were supporters of a big club we would just expect this to happen. The FA have requested - why wouldn't FIFA grant it?

Surely the FA wouldn't request it unless they saw no problem in doing so. I assume that the FA making the request must mean that they think we have complied with the regulations- so why the bloody delay !!!!!!!

Yeah? But how could you possibly leave out Tottenham players when you are called 'England Hotspurs'? (Even when they are almost certain to be serving a ban!)

He'll have been at the club quite regularly since end of the transfer window that he wouldn't need to be 'unveiled', just slot straight in as he wanted to for a good while.
