Pretty sure we've now acknowledged he's our player, Shakey gave an interview saying he's met his new "teammates". Also Silva was with the rest of the squad at the horse racing team bonding outing yesterday afternoon.

The mentality of a successful appeal would impact positively on the team imo.

 

They weren't expecting him to participate until January, but this would feel like a pleasant surprise to them - in having a quality midfielder who can cover the main weakness that has affected that area of the pitch.

Sorry Mozartfox, it does look insulting now I've looked back at it,  I meant it more in the plural with regards to  supporters including me. I just don't think in the greater scheme of things depending what's at stake its that important to the club that we know what going on. No problem Pal and absolutely no offence taken. This is after all FT !!    This Silva thing, for whatever reasons should not have happened to us and everyone is hacked off.  Fingers crossed we hear some official and positive soon!

We are appealing to FIFA not the courts and FIFA will judge the appeal.

The whole saga is one, big fook up.

Its ridiculous that such an error can be made within a multi multi million pound business AND imo that FIFA can be so bloody petty.

It is a sort of legal appeal the club will want the lawyers to go all over the paperwork making sure all the evidence put through to FIFA is correct all the T’s crossed etc etc !

They will have made sure the club follows all the codes of conduct and correct appeal process !!

Above everything else what we've learnt is fifa is still a company more bothered about pocket lining than the state of the sport. 

Yes rules are rules; but the way they've gone about this is by far not in the interests of the sport or anyone but them.

Drinkwater didn't decide he wanted to leave two days before the window closed. Once he said he wanted to leave in the summer, get him out and then get Silva in.

 

If I've got a deadline at work I don't wait until the last week to start my project.

The point is that Silva is ineligible to play for either Sporting or City.

 

If FIFA said, "No transfer". Fair doos. Silva returns to Sporting. I've no problem with that.

 

The point is that a player who has done no wrong has disappeared down an administrative black-hole of FIFAs making. That's not the fault of either club, but clearly a major flaw in the transfer window system.
