So who the hell keeps scouting them then? The manager really shouldn't be having to change his preferred formation because the people above him continually sign players not suited to it. Or not sign them in the case of Silva.

A very valid question but somewhere along the lines in the last few seasons there's been a shift in the type of players we sign who are definitely not 4-4-2 players. Scandalous.

How don't we have any alternatives on formations and players?

We've international defenders, midfielders and strikers kicking their heels. Our only lack of options is in a 4-4-2 but we refuse to change it. Shakespeare is way out of his depth now. Time to go fat boy.

I'm not fat and I ain't going ...    So there ..

FFS! I'm happy to see gray start but really, 442 away, well let's just hope we at least play well.

They are 4-4-2 aswell.

OMFG The negativity on this forum even before a ball has been kicked, Shakey has done today what most have been whinging about for a while drop Mahrez and play Gray he’s picked kingy again most don’t agree some do I still think this is a bit of loyalty on Shakey part to king would loved to have seen Iborra in for king but hey Shakey believes that’s his best squad at the minute!!

Lets just get behind the lads again and hope for the win as we need to win today and honestly with Gray in I think we have a great chance  and I wouldn’t say no to a cheeky 0-1 win today we need to stop the slide !!

COME ON YOU BEAUTIFUL FOXES !!

We’ve injected players before international  duty on many occasions. This is nothing new.

The annoying thing about it is that there’s 55 million quids worth of Striker on the bench that our jobs for the boys manager doesn’t think are good enough!

Slimani would be perfect against Bournemouth and Kelechi needs a start sooner rather than later!

We lose this I think. Time for King to prove some of us wrong and dominate the midfield. Quite glad Mahrez has finally been dropped, hopefully he's fired up to prove a point when he comes on.

You lot make me laugh.

It's really impossible for Shakey to win before the game anyway but you lot slate him every game.

Gray in is a big move and I think the right one but again you're all saying he has to perform today - it's his first start the lad needs a run before he needs to be judged.

Vardy in and Ian and slim on the bench another slating - yet he's obviously fit enough to play and he is our best striker.

Shakey out if we lose - again you are crazy.

Just give it a rest and enjoy the football.

I'm hoping for a win but will be happy with a draw.

Come on you foxes.

He’s getting slated because most people see that king offers absolutely fvck all as an attacking midfielder, a position in which he is getting picked for. No creativity, no skill on the ball no passes to the wings. Nothing. Ok, he does the running around in the centre of the park bit and laying it off to a defender and that’s why people say he’s had a good game, but that’s not what the position he’s trying to play is all about.

Albrighton will be subbed off - around the same time as Slim comes on. Probably 70th min.

This. Free money with the bookies.

You said last season.

lol

i think you got confused because i replied to two of your posts.

to clear things up, i think vardy and kasper were the 2 best players after shakey took charge (talking about last season)

as for the marc/riyad comparison, i was comparing this season and what they did.

Most skilful Leicester player I've ever seen. Club legend for ever more. But in many many games since the title win his form and attitude have let him - and the team - down. Too many times he has been a liability rather than an asset, especially when he gives the ball away in dangerous positions.

I don't get what you mean by 'ideal victim'. Why would true Leicester fans - which I would imagine the majority on this forum are - turn against the player who did more than most to help take us to paradise unless there was good reason to??

Out of the players he's getting the most of the stick, half of it unfairly. I fully agree with you that his performances last season were subpar. I don't read too much in the "attitude" on the pitch since most of the flair players generally look nonchalant, which is in England apparently strongly disliked, as a player has to run himself to the ground even if it's with little purpose.

However since August he's been playing well, wether it's for the shop window or the next move in january, I don't care, as long as he performs for the team. Others do though just because he publicly annouced that he wanted out and keep him under scrutiny. He behaved professionally and is still the biggest danger for the opponent who never fails to double/trebble on him. The only team which didn't was Brighton and he ran riot.

The only game where he really disappointed me from an "attitude" point of view was as I said against Liverpool and that's why I think that benching him is the right decision. Even more so when Gray is undeniably improving pushing for a place in the starting XI.

I meant the "ideal culprit" not the ideal victim. I gave you Albrighton's example because it's the most telling. Both are wingers and the latter which I like a lot has been completely anonymous since Arsenal. I have yet to see him getting a third of the stick Mahrez gets on a weekly basis though.

i don't hate kingy, i hate the fact that i set the bar low and still get disappointed

Since King was our main midfield option in League 1, we've had Cambiasso, Kante, and Drinkwater playing in that position. Ever since Walsh left our recruitment has been appalling. Scadalous that he is now our regular Premier League starter.

Perhaps the question should be, why do we keep buying players that don't fit our formation or aren't better than what we have. Iheanacho and Iborra have done nothing to cement a place in the team. Okazaki has taken his chance, so he rightly keeps his place.

Sorry mate but I'm not ****ing having it that Iborra is not better than King.

All these players had fantastic reputations before they joined us and we seem to completely misuse them.

If we lose today Shakespeare can **** off. There's no excuse for continuing with King and ignoring our newer signings.

The only reason 4-4-2 worked was Kante and Ranieri utterly drilling the players in that style and taking everyone by surprise. All of our signings have been bought to move the team to a different formation but Shakespeare doesn't seem to have the know-how to actually transition them to it.

name the games, because last time i checked, riyad had two games where he was the MOTM and a very decent game vs united. plus, people may say that riyad had a bad game vs chelsea but, he created the 2 biggest chances

he is expected to do so much with so little, but to be fair, he didn't do himself any favours with that summer circus

Come on ?

You cannot be saying Mahrez deserves to play after last week with a straight face.

12 months too late for me if based on performance as opposed to reputation.
