So, wait, fifa have to consent to be taken to court lol what a complete joke. Don't know why people want to blame the club when fifa are being the arses here though...

Didn't matter how fast we did things it was never going to get past FIFA

Could have gone to arbitration quicker, as it was clear fifa wanted to make an example of us, by rejecting it because of a 14 second delay, but now we can’t be fast tracked, so it’s down to wait till jan, or silva goes to arbitration, could we have not foreseen this, with the highly paid advisors, and not back silva to go on his own, straight after fifa declined the appeal, or even in the summer.

Just a shambles from fifa and the club, and it’s silva who is paying the price

If fifa want to make an example of us we couldn't fast track whenever we took it to CAS - that's the point of the statement; that fifa are refusing to be taken to court in a timely manner.

At least, in January, the team will have a more competent midfielder; and allows the likes of Ndidi in particular to be more midfield-offensive.

Wouldn't Ndidi sit and allow Silva to be the more offensive player?

Nope - but they have to agree to fast track the case. Why would they?? Pointless and I posted this on the day of the rejection when this was first mooted by the club.

Thought Silva was a central, holding midfielder, whilst Ndidi is normally positioned just in front the the cm's?

Because they have faith in the fairness of their own decision making and have nothing to fear from external scrutiny ?

Sorry, that was silly - it's FIFA.

I remember you saying that but I can't understand why we wouldn't persue the case.

Ok Fifa can stall the hearing until after January but being able to prove them wrong is important, surely.

It just seems we don't have a lot of belief in our case.

If there is no legal basis for obtaining recompense over costs then we are simply spending even more money on a point of principe. I can only assume we have been advised that even a positive retrospective outcome will not entitle us to sue for damages. If we thought it was completely fruitless then we wouldn’t highlight the players’ ability to make his own challenge

Sky Sports News reporting that there is a chance for Silva to make a Personal Appeal to the CAS, on the grounds that he is, "unreasonably being prevented from competing in his sport".  Apparently, there are very few precedents for such a case, but it might be worth pursuing, as there would be no grounds for FIFA to object to an expedited (early) Personal hearing, as they did with City's case.

That's an interesting photo - assuming that the owners have been in Thailand this week, that photo was probably taken yesterday afternoon - the delay to the squad photo until the end of October would say that shakey had been walking a tightrope for some time .......

unless there was a previous squad photo which I haven't seen ........
