Feel for Root, he's tried to make a mark with doing stuff differently as captain but Smith outthought him in the first Test and he made the wrong decision to bowl first here.

 

I hope that getting a drubbing in this series (which looks on the cards sadly) won't affect his style going forward because I think he can be a really good captain for a long time.

All over bar the shouting now really. Clear we were doggo even on the plane over but still massively disappointing to have lost the urn this early on.

 

Still not completely out of this game but really can't see anyone standing up and making that difference, mental strength just isn't there. Possible element of misfortune but Root's made himself look a bit of a prat with the decisions that have been made.

 

Won't be 5-0, we will nick a draw or win in Melbourne or Sydney when the pressures off I reckon, still a fair bit of talent in the side and they are easier grounds to play at.
