As good, or even better than Lineker imo.

There's not another forward like him around with his pace and excellent awareness and technique.

Could go as far as believing that he's one of the best buys of the decade/ever since £££ came into the game.

calm down, I think some people are forgetting how good Lineker was, he was one of the best in the world, as good as Vardy is he isn't that

from BBC website: Since the start of last season, Jamie Vardy has scored 11 Premier League goals against the 'big six' - five more than any other player.

BTW yesterday was the 2 year anniversary since he scored the 11th goal in a row to set the PL record :vardy:

Pls don’t get me wrong. I think Vardy is a legend but my comments  were intended to be about the future, paticulay the next 2yrs.

We attempted a reload after winning the PL but the only players that worked out are Ndidi,Maguire and Iborra. No new attacking player has added much  in 2yrs. Even Iheanacho who once has the highest minute per goal ratio in Europe is looking like a league 2 striker.  New need a new direction.

Is it possible we’ve been crap in spite of Vardy?

For LCFC you could argue but overall No ..... look at GL's England record 48 goals in 80 internationals finishing as England's second highest scorer behind Bobby Charlton, JV is a long way behind that. :lineker:

Really hope he doesn’t leave (I think he could). The guy is Mr Leicester City. He represents our club fairytale like no one else, and has been critical to our success.

Would love to to see him retire at the king power.

I dont know why but but something tells me he quite likes being here too.

You're either a troll or a twit (putting it nicely).

Vardy is definitely a better player for Leicester City than Gary Lineker.

The timing of is goal last night was priceless as well. Those classless nerks signing some rubbish off of a carp TV show made themselves look proper mugs.

Their own replica shirts?

I think he’s way overrated. The league has figured him out and he has become less effective as a result, we need to start phasing him out before it’s too late.

Every attacking player we’ve bought in the last couple yrs has flopped simply because the team is designed to work for Vardy.  I don’t see us doing anything except avoiding relegation until we change the system or get players that complement the young players.

It doesn't surprise me anymore, the amount of garbage I read on here.

But this does. This time, I'm speechless.

I'm going to go away again for a while and consider the craziness that calls itself humankind.

Mr Leicester City. He's a legend that I hope will be knocking around for ever at the club like Taggart, Walsh, Izzet and Eliott. Thing is I see him and his Mrs wanting more fame and to be bigger than that. Guess we'll just have to see.

It's been a real pleasure though and a fantastic story. We'll need to win something this year to keep him and Riyad for definite.

Idiotic post.

much, much better footballer than he is given credit for. People who don't watch him regularly will be aware of his pace and finishing, but some of his passing and interplay is absolutely sublime.

Defo club legend and in my humble opinion, our best forward in my time of watching City (late 80's onwards)

Lovely finish last night.

Needs to work on his left foot though or just man up. he's wasted 3 or 4 good opportunities in the last 2 games by trying to get onto his right foot instead of hitting a shot with his left.

I still don't think he works half as hard as he did a couple of years ago either.

No doubt he's been a fantastic player for us though, especially considering where he's come from. He's absolutely worked his nads off to get where he is now.

In defence of @Usafox1 we do need to look at why good strikers are failing here. It is not Vardy’s fault or Shinji, but the style we play. If we want to continue playing this way we need to be comparable players but the options are players like Shane Long or Dwight Gayle. We almost always play better with Vardy and Shinji up front, one notable exception was the Swansea game where Vardy was suspended and Ranners didn’t just replace Vardy with Ulloa but he set the team up differently with Schlupp for Albrighton. Just putting on Slimani or Nacho for Vards or Shinji isn’t going to work as they are different players.

My favourite player, and I suspect that's the same for many of us. I wouldn't be surprised if off the field he's a right chav but on the pitch he embodies everything that I love in football. His attitude is first class, he works his socks off with insane energy levels and always looks delighted for others when they score too. Even better, he sums up the romance in football by showing that if you never give up you can make it in life with his meteoric rise. Given how good he is and what he's achieved he would be entitled to be way more egotistical but he's not really changed. Mahrez should take note!

I also think he's criminally underrated, even by some on here! He's not just a fast player who can finish, he's got deft technique and great awareness. His goal yesterday was insane, and the rest of his play is also good. His assist to Albrighton against West Ham shows his football intelligence of drifting into the wing and picking out the right pass.

Absolute legend! I am wearing my Vardy tshirt at work today and don't care if everyone in the office thinks I've gone full kit w@nker!

It's nowhere near as stupid a point as is being made out and in fact is reasonably closely aligned to Puel's ambition to give us different ways of playing.

We have been set up to get the best out of Vardy for a fair while now and he has paid that back in spades. But he's almost 31, relies a fair amount (but much less than he used to) on pace and he's pretty clearly lost half a yard from the title winning season. We should be looking at alternative ways of playing and thankfully Puel seems to be doing that.

Still a great player for us, arguably our best player in fact, but the failure of other strikers is a symptom of how the style we have is so dependent on one man. It's not sustainable.

Odd time to make that point though.

I’m relieved with how he’s looked under puel. Thought he’d lost his pace this season but think it was just the fact the hoods were no where near him so he didn’t bother running!
