Lcfcrory Posted 16 December 2017 Posted 16 December 2017 Which positions do you think we need to strengthen in January and who would you sign?

CloudFox Posted 16 December 2017 Posted 16 December 2017 (edited) It's strangely tough to decide where exactly we need strengthening now. Hopefully Mahrez doesn't go, but if he does we'd need a replacement. Otherwise back up for Simmo at right back would be welcome. But then Amartey did look pretty good in the cup there...and I really want him to succeed. Slimani and Leo might go this window I think, so possibly another up-and-coming target man would be welcome. ...basically I haven't got the foggiest! Edited 16 December 2017 by CloudFox
sdb Posted 16 December 2017 Posted 16 December 2017 To recoup our outlays on Slimani and Musa. Then Benelouane. Use the £50 mill (??) to buy a 2 brilliant youngsters in the summer: one a CB and the other a RB. Squad too big currently.

bpfox Posted 17 December 2017 Posted 17 December 2017 who ever we do buy lets hope we give them game time rather than leave them to rot on the bench. so we need to spend a bit more and bring in starting players not squad players.
foxes21 Posted 17 December 2017 Posted 17 December 2017 Gudmundsson from Burnley, just to hear Dyche moan about pound notes. In all seriousness though he’s a similar player to Albrighton in terms of work ethic & and has a quality left foot (5 assists this season). A consistent right winger like Gudmundsson would be a good alternative to Mahrez when he’s having one of his off days imo.
martyn Posted 17 December 2017 Posted 17 December 2017 Mkhitaryan - Loan. Probably end up back in Germany but worth a go.
lcfcsnow Posted 17 December 2017 Posted 17 December 2017 RB that doesn't pass back to Morgan 50 times a match.
fuchsntf Posted 17 December 2017 Posted 17 December 2017 (edited) Silva to come in, and prove he was worth waiting for, though I dont expect miracles in his first few games. A success with Silva would be a major boost, and could balance/console the departure of Mahrez If Mahrez stays, our 1st choice 14 players, would be very healthy, with a great aspect of realising high potentials. Bring in with major game time, and they prove this season that they can cut it, Amartey, Drago, Nacho, and gk Jaku Then we get James and Huth up and running, finding a good form We have then a quality squad. I suppose after the above after xmas wishes. # .A Rb to compete with simmo. # An out n out Center Forward, # Puel is known for it, so introduce with intent, 1-3 young players. # If he has contacts, another young gem, like Mahrez from the back streets of France ## oh nearly forgot..a more discerning attitude from foxestalk posters, that dont continue and inccessantly hack off, or get on individual players cases, that break out into the holy grail ventures... cityfanlee23 Posted 18 December 2017 Posted 18 December 2017 Sturridge told by klopp he can leave on loan in January to try and secure himself a world cup spot. Injury prone yes, but has a massive point to prove and potentially would not be too expensive, Slimani clearly isnt in Puels plans, Ulloa is Ulloa and god knows what's going on with Kelechi. Vardy is now in a similar position to Simpson, no real competition. Would you gamble on Sturridge? https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/5155185/daniel-sturridge-liverpool-loan-january-exit-jurgen-klopp/
Matt Posted 18 December 2017 Posted 18 December 2017 Jesus and some of us think Slimani is lazy. Lazy, sicknote who comes across as having an attitiude, no thank-you 3

volpeazzurro Posted 18 December 2017 Posted 18 December 2017 Wouldn't want this clown anywhere near us. Attitude injury and performance. Whatever he had was in partnership with Suarez and was a long time ago. Too much of a risk. 2
Nick Posted 18 December 2017 Posted 18 December 2017 At some point I'd like to sell: Ulloa, Slimani, Musa, Benaloune I'd be happy if we went in for offensively: Ben Arfa, Zaha, Sturridge as they can all play as part of a front three or out wide in a 4231 and defensively somebody like Pavel Kaderebek at Right Back. I'd also be looking for a new centre back as Huth and Dragovic do not appear to be competing for Wes's position.
DatfoxesKid23 Posted 18 December 2017 Posted 18 December 2017 (edited) get rid of the deadwood slimani, ulloa, musa, benaloune and mendy to be sold back to nice as he is too good to be on the bench. slim 20m ulloa 3m musa 5m (if we are lucky) ben 5m mendy 15m 48m in total as for coming in someone else can tell me who they want because I have no idea Edited 18 December 2017 by DatfoxesKid23
Wymsey Posted 18 December 2017 Posted 18 December 2017 (edited) Still feel we need another striker, despite Okazaki starting to help more on that side of things. Currently got 3 strikers who aren't really contributing as some would've hoped - Slimani (although it appears that he's leaving, anyway), Iheanacho (although I'm patient to give him some more time to settle down etc) and Ulloa (who I don't really understand why he's both still here and should really be fourth-choice?). For me some of the prices are a bit wishful, benny and mendy but otherwise agree... id also ship out either hamer or jakupovic I think we have enough to get through the season and have a right go in the summer. In jan, maybe ben arfa whose been mentioned a bit if riyad goes, otherwise i think were ok there.. a cb as huth dont look like he will be back anytime soon. Rb competition can wait until july.. id be tempted to get in a big strong bully type forward, not sure who, king from bournemouth could be worth a flutter? 1

Wouldn't touch with a barge pole.
