SuperMike Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 (edited) After such a brilliant display at Chelsea, I'm hoping Puel picks the same team (Chilwell should have served his suspension against Fleetwood). This got me thinking of the team that could be made up from players injured or simply left out - and it certainly shows our strength in depth - even includes our entire prem winning back four! Japukovic Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Barnes Iborra Silva King Grey Slimani Not bad, eh? And that is without Ulloa and the new Diabetes fella! NB. Iheanacho and Musa not considered - they really shouldn't be considered! £40,000,000 of waste of space! Edited 15 January 2018 by SuperMike Fingers useless on keyboard!

He played a vital role in a good all round team performance on Saturday, a role Gray can't play, it's like comparing chalk and cheese. 1 1

Both Gray and Okazaki are either excellent or very ineffective and you can usually tell what you're going to get from them within the opening 5-10 mins of any game they start. Okazaki was atrocious vs Huddersfield and it baffled me how he was kept on for so long. Gray's form has dropped alarmingly since early December but these two are the players I see as being rotated the most as they are impact players. They've both shown that a run of games doesn't actually increase their form, they produce results in erratic fashion and both have to be managed correctly. So far Puel seems to have done this well. 3

Yes, actually I think you've summed that up spot on with both of them. Okazaki on occasions can be so frustrating yet on others is the main difference, I never can quite work that one out. Gray, for me too seems to have dropped off a bit lately. I just wonder whether it may be because he had a little less game time, just like before when he came on, he tries to do just that little bit too much to try and prove himself? A bit more in the simple passing and moving department rather than the too frequent, at times, decision to take players on.

Times moved on and I want to leave that happy memory or 2015/2016 behind. plus the football we can now play with Maguire and Draggo is very promising. Edited 15 January 2018 by les-tah
fazzyfox Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 I saw a stat at the weekend that Watford had rescued more points than anyone else with goals in the last ten minutes of games, so if it's 1-0 it could be a nervy finish. They looked very good a couple of months back, I don't know whether teams have sussed them or they've just gone a bit flat but they seem to have plenty of danger men and it should be an attractive game to watch, if we play like we did at Chelsea a 2-0 win should be more than achievable. We made a bit of progress on Burnley at the weekend and Everton lost too, another weekend like that please!

Shinji has 6 goals, Gray has 3. Shinji's main role isn't even scoring or chance creation, he's up there to press high (which is valuable as scoring a goal), and he scores goals. I'm not saying Gray is bad, but I wouldn't have Gray over Shinji. 5

Hopefully if they score in the 92nd minute with a goal that is BLATENTLY handball, the referee will spot it this time. .....it's not John Moss is it ?
Max Wall Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 Should have beaten these last time. Home advantage and a win, however it comes please.

I'd rather you took the lead tbh...
StriderHiryu Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 Play the same team as we did against Chelsea just with Fuchs in for Chilwell given his suspension. If the FA Cup game counts for the suspension, then put Chilwell back in as well. I'd never have thought that we should play Matty James ahead of Iborra and Silva, but that's exactly what I would do, because he proved good enough at Stamford Bridge. Our last game against them was so frustrating as we did the hard part in getting ahead and just gifted them two goals to win it.Definitely can't take them for granted as Sliva has done a very good job and they are decent for sure. We should take it, but need to be at 100% concentration levels.
weller54 Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 They're awful.. How the Hell we lost at their place I don't know!!!.. 3-0 Vardy 2 Mahrez
SecretPro Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 Andy King on the wing That's got to be the best joke of 2018.

In fact King won#t be near the bench unless the midfield is decimated. You'd prefer Ulloa over Nacho or even Musa? Okay.
surrifox Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 Coughing up any points to this lot would be tragic . It was bad enough losing to an own goal and a Molla Wague strike at their place but at home it would be intolerable . The dodgy aspect is that Deeney is now back in their side after suspension 1

La-Sayona Posted 15 January 2018 Posted 15 January 2018 I shall be coming to this game with the eldest (19) and youngest (7) sons, so I hope it's a good one. First time for all of us at the King Power Stadium! 3

No- King not on the wing - just using example to show our strength in depth (mebee midfield three of King, Silva, Iborra??) and this without our promising youngsters. And yes, I would prefer Ulloa over Nacho - in fact, i'd prefer Kermit the Frog over Nacho, but not sure if he's registered to play.
