Defiantly Swansea they have basically done what Sunderland did for several years and that’s scrape buy year by year with players that are just ok or can do a job . It’s only a matter of time before you eventually get relegated if you are constantly standing still and everyone else is improving .

Southampton don’t know  why and I’d love West Ham but that’s  not going to happen

would love west ham to go down, only to see them in the championship with that stadium!

Feel sorry for the fans of anyone who goes down. Newcastle have certainly been through it the last few years so wouldn't mind them staying up. I think Stoke, West Brom and Swansea have been up the longest of the contenders, so all \ any of them to go and three promoted teams who are hungry for the league would be good.

The current current 3 will do for me.

I went to college in Swansea for a few years so have a bit of a soft spot for them although I think their time is up.

Quite like West Brom, just a decent club, and from a Midlands point of view Stoke but I think their days may be numbered.

Wouldn't shed a tear if Palace (nothing against the club or Hodgson just their god awful fans) went, but I don't think there's a chance. West Ham would have comedy value just for that stadium and the meltdown amongst their support, again unlikely.

Which clubs, should then in your opinion...be the ones that would upgrade the PL...?

What form/character of team ethos, would improve naturally the quality of the PL?

Clubs with a strong track record in the top leagues, ones with European level history, teams with large, characterful grounds that can attract the best possible players to the league.

I understand completely that teams are here on merit, of course they are. I just think that the PL would be stronger with the likes of Villa, Leeds, Newcastle etc than Bournemouth, Swansea, Blackpool, Wigan et al. If you disagree then cool :)

Swansea, Stoke and Huddersfield for me. Swansea because they are poor al round. Stoke because they look terrible defensively  and Huddersfield are in free fall after a decent start.

I am on no crusade..

But isnt competition, what is all about....Names and History mean nothing, Though a A.villa Newcastle, Sunderland bring in the crowd

and a large catchment area.Just because they have tradition, doesnt mean the quality is diminished.

Swansea, Bournemouth came in playing attractive football.

Stoke was always a spoke, in the big teams wheel...

I am happy with the quality, the Twists and turns Of.....the " bottom 16" and their competitive spirit.

For the life of me, since the late 50s until now, I have seen many eras, seen idols come and go.

Good/bad changes in the game,

Quality is just a perception that rides and hides in a strange womens flowing Coat tails of  historical hypocrisy.

Hope:

Swansea - Have offered nothing noteworthy to the Premier League since they sacked Laudrup.

Stoke - Mutant fans and the epitome of a club making up the numbers.

Crystal Palace - Fans think they invented support, Selhurst Park actually manages to have a more manufactured atmosphere than we do with the clappers (choreographed goal celebrations via the PA, have a word) and Zaha is just slapworthy.

Expect:

Swansea - They're ****ed.

West Brom - Decent enough away day and fans who aren't complete arseholes, but bottom three with Pardew in charge bodes poorly.

Southampton - Few goals in the side, looked horrific against us and little clue how to get out of the mire.

Who I'd like to come up:

Wolves - If West Brom are going, wouldn't mind a trip to Molineux

Derby - Who promptly come up, gift us the usual six points and then go straight back down again.

Fulham - Lovely old school ground and probably the most pleasant fan base in London. Neutral zone can get in the bin though.

Its gonna go down to the wire...10 clubs fighting to stay up...5 clubs fighting for Champions League places ...there are'nt going to be many teams on the beach with 6 matches to go like there normally is,so no easy points to be had.....we can just sit back and watch them.. should be fun !

This thread has gone a bit championship, full of circle jerking for the 'big clubs' in the championship. It's bad enough that Forest and Derby wank each other off but now there's Sunderland, Villa, Leeds, Wolves and Wednesday that act like they've got a divine right to be in the top flight because they won some trophies 60 years ago. They try and console each other that they're relevant when the fact of the matter is that they're bigger than wheely bin clubs like Bournemouth but the reality is that it doesn't matter anymore with the cash in the game.

I would rather have most of the 'bigger' championship clubs promoted rather than play Watford and Bournemouth because they're more prone to meltdown which is good value but ugh, the championship is full of clubs that love their wikipedia page too much.

Just want to see the end of Eddie Howe and see him become the new overhyped manager who does nothng

He may regularly sound arrogant now they're with the big boys, especially with the quite big amount he has spent on average players, but what other English manager has taken over a seemingly-beleaguered club in League Two to the top division in the history of the sport?

Id prefer Swansea Stoke and Bournemouth to go down.

I just feel bournemouth are very over hyped. I dont see that much good football from them....no more than i see from palace on their day or watford say.

Plus eddie howe just doesnt do it for me. Spends decent money but if you take away the young and english part all the nice football reputation was earned lower down the leagues. He sets his teams up quite naively in games i think and theyre just asking for a bashing sometimes.

But i think the actual three will be swansea stoke and its a coin toss between newcastle and huddersfield for me. I think huddersfield might just be ok but newcastle are ropey.

Hey!  My ex (in Leeds) was a Leeds fan.

Oh... Wait... On second thoughts, never mind - forget I said anything! ;):P
