I haven't noticed him clap the crowd at the end of a match like he did yesterday.

Almost felt like a farewell. I might have read to much in to it :fc:

Sending hugs through now...

We won't sell this window, but with 2 years left in the summer on his contract, I expect we'll have to consider any bids that come in.

However as far as I am aware, the only genuine bids came from Roma, and they were completely derisory.

He'll cost in excess of 50 million that's for sure.

No one seems to want him enough, so no. He is clearly worth at least £75 million in this market. Probably more.

Gut out feeling is we'll lose him for a lot less than he's worth, possibly in 12 months time when he's 18 months away from going for nothing and he's desperate to leave.

100 million ??

The most anyone has bid is about 30 million

There is a serious lack of understanding of how transfers work, he is worth what someone is willing to pay for him, obviously his ability makes him an expensive player, but it is not a case if x player is worth x amount and y player is worth y amount "in today's market" etc. For that reason I fortunately can't see him going anywhere although if he carries on playing like he is till May it is  going to be a long summer again.

You might equally argue that he is worth what the seller is prepared to let him go for.

If someone offered 90 mill and we said "no, we want 100", then he's worth 100 as far as we're concerned.

Mahrez is as good as Coutinho and he went for 142m so we shouldn’t let him go on the cheap, but because he is a leicester player and not Brazilian we will get ripped off

I don't think that 100m is out of the question at all. If that's what the club values him at then that's that.

We hold the cards in any negotiations because he is our asset and we don't have to sell. The only problem being that if nobody puts up the cash, he can let his contract run down and leave for nothing.

What would people like? Sell in the next 12 months for 100m or keep him for two years and let him go for free?

Strange how if a player can perform well and score goals when backed up by superstars at a glamour club, then he's worth 100-150 million. But do the same at a less glamorous club (albeit against the same opponents) and the achievements are somehow seen as less.

Yes and no obviously we'd have a value we'd not sell at less than (which is 50 by all accounts) and no deal could take place without us agreeing but that's our valuation, the market value is what someone is willing to pay for him, and the point in hand is the scenario your using is fictional, in reality no ones bid over 30 million for him.

Personally I think the minute we get anything over 50 Riyad is going to kick off if it's turned down and it's a deal he's interested in.

Yes. Let's sing about Kasper being better than his Dad when he's candidly said he hates the comparisons. That will really please him.

Best bit of business last summer was the long term contracts.

With the massive clubs paying big money, unless he goes to one of those ? I can see him staying? As NO ONE , will pay what he is worth!

People say he ain’t worth it? We shall see.. If they want him pay what he’s worth?

2.5 years left atm .

Buying him at 400k we could even afford to lose him for free..

In a world where van dijk is 75m and coutinho is 142m, mahrez should be at least 100m.

How long did van dijk have left on his contract at Southampton?

He wasn't even playing for a while and Southampton still got a great price.

I would rather we held mahrez til his contract was up and he went for free than get anything less than 75m.

We don't need the money but I don't want to undersell.

Depends where we are as a club in 2 years. If we've finished top 7 2/3 years in a row then £50m-£100m won't make much difference.

I used to be completely fine about letting him go for a good price as in terms of style, there are plenty of other players our there we could get. But he truly is a world class talent and we've never even considered replacing him/investing in his position so I'd rather him be here for another 30 months than get £100m.

No.

Once again the media is driving this speculation and hyping him up. He's too inconsistent for the top clubs to spend that sort of money on.

Genius... If you read correctly I was purposely singing that he was better than his dad..,.. Hence he is out of his fathers shadow and garners respect for his own career??? Seriously, some people
