So, hypothetically (and assuming we were 'used' to the other leagues) how would we compare to the top teams in other countries? comparisons are often made between the big boys in each of Europe's leagues, but how would we fair? it's a weird one, really not a lot of actual 'evidence' to go off, but an interesting question to ask, and one that ultimately could let us know where we stand among the best in world football.

6th in the calcio and la liga , 4th in bundesliga and ligue 1

I reckon we'd be top 2 in the Scottish, Dutch, Belgium and any Scandinavian League

Top 4 in the Portuguese & French league

Top 6 German, Italian or Spanish league

Something like that.....

6th in Bundesliga (although look how tight that league is right now - 6 points separate 2nd to 10th!)
7th in La Liga - (behind Barca, Real, Atletico, Sevilla, Villarreal, Valencia)
5th in Ligue 1 (behind PSG, Monaco, Marseille, Lyon)

6th/7th in Serie A (behind Juve, Napoli, Roma, Inter, Lazio, Atalanta)

Only storm Forest could muster up would be one in a tea cup.

As fir for all other European leagues - Greek league we’d likely win. Turkish league top 2. Swiss League top 2. Spain, Italy and German leagues about where we are in ours. Reasonable shout at winning most of the others.

FWIW, the FiveThirtyEight "Global Club Soccer Rankings" currently have us 56th in the world: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/global-club-soccer-rankings/: below 13 La Liga, 11 Bundesliga, 8 Serie A, and even 4 Russian Premier League clubs.

I know this is a pure quant-based method, and I know I might be a little biased, but I think City are better than 31st-place Atalanta (and I'd hope that Yohan Benalouane would agree).

Edit: Forest have climbed 22 places to the dizzying heights of 366th.

Scottish: 1st

French: 3rd

Dutch: 1st

Belgian: 1st

All Scandinavian leagues: 1st

Italy: top 4

Spain: top 5 (personally only think Real, Barce and Atletico are better than us. I know Valencia are having a good season but I wouldn't say they are any better than us and same with Sevilla and Villareal)

Portugal 1st. Proper shit that league!

Germany: 3rd.

Maybe I overestimate our team a bit ?

I reckon if you looked around Europe:

We would be big favourites to win the all the "minor" leagues, Belgian, Greek, Turk. Swedish, Norwegian, Danish

We would challenge to win the Dutch League, Russian, Swiss, and have a great chance of winning the league but it would be more difficult

Next level up would be Ukrainian, Portuguese. We would challenge for a champions league place, but they contain good teams that have excellent players.

Then Italy and France, I think a champions league place would be beyond us partly because of big teams, partly due to less champions league places.

Then Spain and Germany would be the highest level. No chance of winning the league, but perhaps marginally more chance of a champions league place than England.

Think people are overestimating us tbh. Don't think we'd be able to compete with Ajax/PSV in Holland. Interesting topic tbf but too many variables, Mahrez would be off halfway through our first good season if we were playing in Holland fo example like most good players. Same with Ukraine and maybe Russia. We'd probably struggle with every away game mainly with the travel which is hard to get your head around in comparison with the distances we have to travel

I think you are looking into this far too deeply :D
