Grow up and get behind Riyad, or: stop listening to the press and wait and see how he reacts on the pitch

My take on it is we moved the goal posts on the transfer again and he was gutted, due to that we've turned a blind eye to him having 10 days off to clear his head. He's obviously made his thoughts known to the club and whether this will finally get him his move in the summer remains to be seen, I think it will. As per usual it's the fans left in the dark but some of the things this club does I'm not surprised by all of this.

Mahrez has my full support, I'll cherish these remaining 12 league games. What a fcukin genius he's been. Go light it up again Riyad.

In fairness to Mahrez, this does appear to be a familiar story with quite a few ex-players who leave Leicester.....and even some who are still there.

Dont we all expect honesty from others as a basic human value?!?

Suspect that there wont be too many in the KP who wont be on their feet cheeering next time he scores for us....in same way that ive never yet met anyone who owned up to being part of the MON out campaign...!  "Some" football fans appear to have very short/selective memories

People should be cheering if he scores, not because he has scored but because Leicester have scored. He is a W***er now and he will still be a W***er after he has scored.

"stop listening to the press"

so, @Finnegan was right after all lol

That he was foxxy!

Hopefully that puts that to bed. He turns up now with the right attitude and blows man city apart! (Should the manager feel that's right) I imagine the 'depressed' statement is what he refers to with his 'So called friend'

So, in conclusion, this will definitely shut the bad mouthing of all those who had found a sick pleasure throwing up and spewing all the hatred towards one of the gems of the club and its dynamo, without whom the club was in the abyss.

Mahrez! Ya da Man!

Do your job as per your contract. Have fun ... Meg all you can ... and shine like you have always done, ..... and as the cherry of the cake, please give "le bras d'honneur" to those who nauseatingly hammered us in this forum with their "we know it all ... and the owners have rightfully done this .. done that", and "Mahrez failed the supporters..", and "let him rot with the reserves" and all their legacy and loyalty non-sense, ..... just to find at the end that they were completely outta reality and the intricate negotiations and details of this whole matter.

It might help matters if Riyad actually told us why he’s been absent for the past 10 days. Was it a club decision?  I fuching doubt it.

If I didn't still feel that his behaviour was petulant, immature and disrespectful, your post would have me reaching for a box of tissues!

Come on,man!  The club was here before riyad and when he leaves the club will still exist. He is seen by the majority as the most skillful player in the history of the club and for me and other fans, the best ever. Let's just leave it at that.

Amazing how many people are willing to turn a blind eye based on the fact that he's our best player. Imagine if this was Simpson who'd acted like this or Albrighton...

Should he be involved tomorrow?

Absolutely not. If the power is ever to shift back to clubs from players then Mahrez has to be punished for his antics of the last 10 days. If, by some unlikely miracle, the club authorised this absence then someone needs sacking.

The statement from Mahrez is absolutely pathetic. No apology or explanation for the fact he's missed three important matches and two weeks of training but instead a feeble attempt to pass the buck and blame others for the stories that have appeared in the national press for the last couple of weeks. Exactly the kind of petulance and lack of ownership over his own decisions that created this situation.

If the stories in the news were so wide of the mark then there was a simple solution to put an end to them: get back to doing the job he's paid handsomely to do.

Fine him, sideline him, boo him. If you are happy to just let Mahrez stroll back into the side as if nothing's happened then you're part of the problem.

I don't particularly like it BUT I would like the CLUB to finish 7th or higher, which means getting HIM back in the team sharpish because we DON'T win games without him.

I want us to win, and our chances of doing so are better with him in the team. Who's going to benefit if we leave him on the sidelines? If the players and management are happy to include him, so am I
