Your embarrassment threshold must be low.

Tragically low. Almost a clinical issue i'd suggest if a poll on Foxestalk can make someone embarrased!

Spectacularly stupid.

Or maybe it just means that there are currently 69 of us who still value things like loyalty, honour and integrity above money.

You help me with this issue and I’ll help you with spelling, deal?

Literally no one has suggested that at all. No one has suggested a move to man city wouldn't increase his chance of winning silverware. But, that doesn't mean that we're a charity and should sell for derisory bids. Any transfer has to be right for all parties concerned, not just the player.

I didn't say it shouldn't.

But some of the comments like "fvck off" and all that are uncalled for.

I can't help you pal. You clearly need someone with experience in psychology or something. Bit out of my remit i'm afraid.

A bigger picture is that we are almost safe in the prem now so a few mill in prize money at stake but also the possible euro spot.

Therefore we can manage without as we will be next season.

Great shame all round as plenty of love getting binned

Embarrassed for your embarrassment of my own embarrassment.

This could turn into a very long thread, can we just agree that you weren't actually embarrassed at all and just trying to post a witty comment, but failed then leave it there

The Mahrez scenario is not unique, Mahrez is taking a massive gamble if he doesn't make himself available to play, he's gambling the Thais don't want to pay for an unhappy player who's doing nothing so will be happy to get rid at whatever fee we get, a bit like the Payet situation however the Thais may lose face if they do this, it would be like Mahrez getting his own way, the other scenario is the Thais will just leave him to sulk which could be for another 2 and a half years, this would cost them £10m in wages and they'd get nothing for him but would surely ruin Riyads career. I don't see that Riyad has a choice but to return.

He's tarnished his legacy here regardless of what he does from here on in.

I'll forever remember him as a turncoat who put his own interests ahead of everyone else - the club, the players, the owners, the fans.

He might have shown moments of brilliance but they were self-motivated as a means to something else that he thinks he is entitled to.

He signed the contract for four years, stick with the ****er and live with the consequences.

Exactly. He's gone from one of my favourite players to one of my most despised. Play him only for the fact that we're paying him 100k a week, but come the summer, i want to see the back of him. Don't give a fuch where he goes as long as he's gone.

Sad truth is that he's worth about 10 places in the league for Leicester. We need him more than he needs us, in the games where we win it's usually Mahrez who unlocks the door.

We're not in a position to play hard ball on principle it'll cost us tens of millions we need to swallow our pride give him a contract which our valuation deserves and give him that release clause so we can draw a line under things in the summer. That way there's no grey area and he can go if someone pays the asking price which will be known to everyone from the off.

So people who have a different opinion to you are all stupid? Ridiculous post. There was always going to be a mixed reaction to this. Some people want him back cos they can't see past his unbelievable skill and others feel that one player isn't bigger than our club and the utter dis respect he's shown the club and everyone attached to it should not be taken lightly. I think everyone is agreed that if he apologises to the fans and his team mates and gets his head down until the summer then of course we want our best player playing for us. But if he's going to poison the dressing room and continue causing trouble then he can feck right off.

He played against Watford, Crystal Palace, West Brom, Huddersfield and many other poor performances. I think too many people overstate the difference that Mahrez makes to our team. Football is a team game and even when there's a flair player who can sometimes do something it needs everybody else to carry his normally lazy ass through the game in order that the few minutes of magic mean anything.

So many of us on here were getting optimistic about finishing in a respectable position in the league and even winning the cup - either way, scraping into europe for next season.

This has all gone down the pan by the actions of Man C and Mr.Mahrez (and/or his really-really-clever agent).

Another season wasted and, yet, I'm still unsure which way to vote on this issue. Hope the Thais are more decisive than me :unsure:

I agree with this, he was garbage for a lot of 16/17, he can be garbage for 80 minutes but he can produce a small bit of magic that will often result in a goal, I think the team is heading in the right direction to life without Mahrez and still being as competative

We may well have had five more points the last two games had he been playing as normal.  He can unlock games like no-one else.  But it does seem we have now blown the chance of catching the Arse - so what happens the rest of the season apart from the FA Cup is irrelevant. Or can we get to Europe as 7th?

Some of the trouble may  be cos of the owners as well - they probably said to him if we get 50 mill last summer we will sell, then his price went up.  Did anyone sit him down and say 1) Cos of Van Dijk etc we are not selling you for less than 75 mill and 2) if we get an offer the last few days of the window we may not accept as we have no chance of getting a decent replacement - and our fingers were burnt with Silva last second shenanigans...

Yeh but no but....

Yes because I don’t want him going a penny less than our valuation was last week just because he’s thrown a strop. It has to be made clear to him that he will only be sold if a bid is made which meets the clubs valuation otherwise he’ll still be with us come the start of next season. That way it would be in his interest to get his backside in gear and turn up every week.

No because he obviously doesn’t want to be here and I honestly wouldn’t mind if we just paid him his £100k a week over the next two and a half years had him train with the kids and never picked him again.  This is a club about to spend £80 million on a training ground, £12.5 million spread over 30 months is whilst not exactly small change wouldn’t break the club. Let’s see what his ‘Super’ agent advises then.

His agent’s playing brinksmanship with us, he’s spread poison and bile to the point we don’t want the best player in decades here anymore.  I doubt we’ll be the club to seize some of the power back off the players but I would love it if we made a stand as a warning anyone else considering downing tools in future.

I expect him to go for less than he’s worth.
