Get the same reaction whenever question King. People can be grateful and respect what a player has contributed to the club, but still think he isn't good enough for us anymore.

It becomes painful doesn’t it...

His legendary status from the title-winning season makes him a favourite to some still.

He's past his peak and should move aside to give the now more capable defenders an opportunity to impress.

yeah cos we only have coaches to pass, do you actually have more than one brain cell?

What exactly would you want him to coach?

Positonal awareness X

passing under pressure X

aeriel dominance X

on pitch leadership X

last ditch tackles because you’ve failed to be aware of what around you ...OK

being a top lad in the changing room ... OK

sign him up

I recall on commentary yesterday we have conceded 11 goals for corners this season?  So rather than waste money offering a contract extension to Morgan, use this cash to entice a quality defensive Coach to come and join us as whoever is responsible for this task now is a failure.  We need some savvy ex Italian Defender (not Claudio) to come in and make us difficult to break down,  Going behind in every game now is becoming the norm.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more!

Morgan rated higher than Maguire against Newcastle, Brighton, West Brom and the same against Stoke and only fractionally less than his score against Burnley.

If that doesn't tell you the scores are a crock of shit, then I don't know what does.

I would tend to agree with you but seeing as Wes is rated lower than this Zanka chap, that presumably means he's the lowest rated centre back in the league across the season so far. Yes there could be mistakes in isolated incidents or even quite regularly, but to be dead last after 30+ games is pretty damning imo.

At the end of the day if Huth is finished, losing Morgan go would leave us with one senior proven CB on the books in Harry.

Do we really want to be spending a large chuck of our transfer funds on 2 CB's in the summer?

Get a Evans or another 1st choice CB to playing alongside Harry and keep Wes as backup!

I’ve seen plenty on here saying we should bid for soares, rondon and tadic!

Especially Rondon. What people see in him beyond me.

If he’s got as much influence as they say he needs to go if not first choice. I can imagine him stirring it up when his replacement makes the slightest mistake. based on this story how he told them not to get another CB in the summer he thinks he’s the man

Nice one Wes. Rubbing shoulders with some real dirge there.

Steady on, on the the transfer forum plenty of people want us to sign Soares, Tadic and Rondon to no doubt make it the fantastic four of "dirge". :D

Need to keep Big Wes in the squad for next year and then put him out to grass.

Dragovic will go back to Leverkusen, Huth will retire and Benalouane should be nowhere near the first team.

This leaves us just Maguire, Morgan and the development squad as things stand. Ideally Maguire will partner a new signing and Morgan will be third choice. We'll need to either buy another centre half or promote the next CB cab off the rank from within.

So why tonight?

saturday’s performance wasn’t much worse than had preceded it.

whilst Europe was still feasible, did the players have the whip hand over the manager (via Appleton)?

Or has dragovic had a change of mind re next season?

just curious
