Go on then how many games has he been exceptional for us the last season ? Christ he buggered off because he couldn't get his own petulant way and look how that affected the team and results with his childish attitude. Hardly world class was it.

Tottenham at home, Swansea away, Newcastle away, Southampton away, Stoke away (very good), Man Utd at home (that assist was a disgrace), Huddersfield at home, West Brom away.

There are other games his talent lit up otherwise very dull games and that free kick alone vs Bournemouth was ridiculous. It glossed over a poor result but left you in no doubt what he can do for us.

Waahhh, another one using the stats to his advantage.

As impressive as it may look at first sight, these numbers don't tell the whole story. 2016-2017 in the Premier League, anyone?

Love, MCP xoxo

Of course they do not tell the whole story but he has clearly performed very well in what has been quite a chaotic team since the title win.  Not much we can do but wait and see I suppose but I really can't see him failing if he moves to Man City.  X

I think if we looked back over each game in the past couple of seasons and picked out the games he was ‘world class’ in we wouldn’t be talking about more than 15 games. Of course the title winning season he was consistently world class, as was Vardy.

I’m not trying to play down what he’s done for us but I think people need to calm down a bit. LCFC will still be here long after Mahrez leaves

I have said nothing contrary to this.  I think he should leave and I think we will be OK.  I also think he is a world class player and I predict he will be a success at Man City but we will have to wait and see.  X

I agree, hope he’s given a fair crack at it

You'll fcukin miss the umpteen goals and assists. Don't come crying when we're putting in turgid displays next season and you're at a loss to why we can't buy a goal. Astounding.

Some fecking crystal ball you've got. So I guess you're having a monkey on us going down then.

It would be hard not to be a success at MCFC tbh.

Got this off twitter. It was a thing I found interesting. (granted, not all people like analytics in sports)

I find that quite surprising tbh. His shots never look like scorchers. To me they look like they glide in majestically. The only ones I can think of that he belted were Man City away in the title winning season when he ruined Otamendi and Newcastle away last season

Guardiola has turned Sterling from a 6/10 footballer to a 7/8 out of 10 footballer.

If he has a similar impact on Mahrez City will be a formidable team next year.

I don't want him to want to leave, but he does. So make the most of the money and build the team to operate differently.

Then sit tight and hope it works. It doesn't matter that we all disagree on wording, we all want LCFC to win - at least I think we all do.

That really surprised me.

It's not like there is a lot of strength in those legs so his technique for striking a ball must be phenomenal.

I think people don't seem to get the fact that no matter how good a player is, they won't light up every game when playing for Leicester city. Especially when they are an attacking player, stifled of support and space, often left to try and take on half a team alone.

He's got the talent to go to the top, without question. But he'll never be accepted as world class playing in a middle of the road team. He'll go there, light the place up and all we'll hear is how Pep took him to another level, how he's a better player than when he was here... when in reality the platform he's performing in is more suited to showcasing what he can do.

i'm on the fence, well I think it's a grey area, not black and white. there's been hundreds of times since the title win, when mahrez has looked uncapable of taking on even one defender, i personally think he's a confidence player (although i suppose most players are).

That's a little bit presumptuous on Diabate but the chances of you being correct are higher than you being wrong. Mahrez is incredible and it'll be the same prats wishing him gone that'll be booing and up in arms when we're devoid of any creativity or edge of your seat stuff next season.

Diabate has to play wide right to stand any chance of making a worthwhile impact.

I'll be amazed if he ever excels greatly at this level. He reminds me a lot of Lloyd Dyer tbh. I understand why he's a cult hero here already, he's quick and he runs around a lot. He's extraordinarily raw though.

He's not a world class player, could have been, but really isn't. His most consistent attribute is to stroll through games run into groups of defenders and loose the ball, and not pass when it's a better option. Remember how he was when he first came to LCFC, it's quite possible that Fouss will develop along the same lines....hence my choice of "hoping", I like many others, saw something very good in the lad....oh and who the fcuk are you to decide who gets to post an opinion? What a self centred tw@ you are. My level of stupidity is on display only by my replying to your dross.

Crown Prince of the Internet, haven't you heard? It was obviously wild hyperbole but the underlying point is the same, Mahrez is clearly a world class talent and if you're happy to see him go because you think he's an inconsistent one trick pony then you clearly don't watch football, or at least us.

Why are people moaning about closing the thread?  Its foxestalk this has to hit 100 pages before anything may or may not happen. Hang your heads in shame!

The odds won't be enough for me but there's worse bets out there. We're in a very precarious position, massive summer ahead.

I'd not like to read you being unfair! ;)

Perhaps because it's off topic and people abusing each other. The last 2/3 pages have been one big argument.

one of the 5 players this season who managed to get double digits in goals and assists.

the only player who had double digits in both categories in 2 of the last 3 seasons.

He will only be called world class when he's playing for Man City and those are the facts. When a player is not on your team, you will tend to focus on the positives but when he plays for the team that a person supports, the shortcomings get highlighted and the expectations get unrealistic. That's why we seem so hard on some of our players while fans from other teams seem to rate them highly.

Do people think Hazard is consistent? or Ozil? Sanchez? Pogba? And many other players for that matter.

I think it all depends on your opinion of what makes a world class player really. It's all subjective. I personally wouldn't say pogba is world class for instance.

Fergie for instance said he only had what 2 world class players play for him in his career? I think a fair few would disagree in their own assessment of what makes a player world class.

How anyone could be happy to see the back of mahrez though I have no idea. He's such a joy to watch with the ball at his feet.
