yet people want Puel gone now even though we've not been close to relegation since he arrived i.e. he's improved us in the league (well aware performances could be improved). And he's had to deal with players who find it difficult to change the way they're used to playing, as well as big egos thinking they have more power, injuries, suspensions etc. I'm confident (gut instinct maybe) that if he is able to get his own players in and work with players he is more comfortable with, we still won't be near relegation next season either.

Selection is the issue, dragovic should be in instead of Morgan, the constant changing even when we play well isn’t great... it just seems no one really knows what to do to me. It is like England when they arrive at a World Cup! too many obvious tactical errors and poor selections... can you seriously feel that is going to improve next season?

If the owners really mean this verbal backing then I'm truly worried about next season. So they give him all the money to buy for next season and he attracts no one of substance and our best players have gone due to not wanting to work under him ( a real scenario given what we know about how the current player's rate him ) and we plummet down the league. He gets the sack and we become less attractive year by year to the point where the owners give us up as a bad job. I really can't understand how the owners can't see this clown will be the ruination of us, and yes Peter Taylor mark 2

Not a great sign. Reckon he will get the rest of the season then he's gone. Then the cycle of new manager will begin again.

Yes and give us all a great close season guess the new manager thread. Should reach the 100 +

yep, I agree about the Dragovic/Morgan selection. Wrong decision to make.

But is he the first manager ever to make the wrong decision about player selection? Nope. My point being is that Puel has been given such a hard time so far and he's barely even got started here. So much unwarranted vociferous criticism aimed at him. Not to say he should be immune to it, but the volume of it has been OTT.

I’m usually positive but I really Im finding it difficult to see how Puel can move is forward, I’m sorry, I have backed him until the last 6 or 7 games it has been pathetic

i've campaigned against pearson for many years been sworn at, metaphorically spat at and banned on here yet when we got rid of him we suddenly had our best moment in history.

those three words 'bring back pearson' gave me shudders. as for puel i support what he's trying to do  but wouldn't be bothered if we get rid after all chelsea do it every year and it seems to work for them

I will be betting on LCFC for the prem next year I think we have one more hit at it

Well you can look at my post when Pearson had us bottom, I was always behind him because I could see him doing good in the end. Anyway I can say we played similar football to what Pearson did in the great escape that took us to the title... I think Pearson deserves some credit there and is one of our greatest managers

It' a very tricky one.

Currently not a fan of puel however some of the players need a kick up the backside. If he stays then he needs to bring in his own players to adapt to the football he wants to play..maybe some of the stronger characters in the dressing room are afraid of being binned off so are not trying for him.

Who knows ?

i give him credit for getting us out of div3 and he finally got it right after completely screwing up in playoffs against cardiff and and Watford both of which I unfortunately witnessed) however he'd gone into 'ostrich' mode before cambiasso took over and kept us up.whatever. you want him to be the next manager

Good that they've made their intentions clear.

We can only back him as fans now. Let him have the summer, let him get his players in and then lets judge in October/November.

Go to hell

If Puel does stay, what is the end goal? I can’t see us ever breaking into the top 6 playing a possession based style, because there are already plenty of teams better at it than us.

Not definitely going but reading between the lines he has these three games to save his job.

We'll see tomorrow how much the players care for him.

I'm starting to worry they don't care for anyone.

I'm actually not that worried about him being giving our transfer budget to spend. That is one area I feel he may actually do well in. Diabate for example looks an absolute gem of a find.

It's the rest of it that worries me still and also people presume he is going to ditch the "old guard" and bring in his own players... where is the evidence of that? Had a window already and did nothing even with half a season left and also continues to select them when arguably better options are available.

I just hope they mean it this time, we need to give him this summer at least.

I agree I just think it's the same as what happened with ranieri and Shakey. Puel has to win at least 1 of these games which are left.

How do you know that?

He wasn't given the chance to get players that suit him at Southampton and he definitely hasn't been given the chance here.

He had Nice playing superb football so lets just wait and see.

Puel's style is sideways, possession football. He will never be an attacking manager. Unless he plans on changing the whole squad, it will never work. We don't have the quality.

I honestly don't understand the problem. Puel said he's gonna mess about and experiment coz the season is dead and its all dead rubbers and now the fans are moaning about results. I mean people can sometimes complain they don't know what's going on but in this case he said what's going on. Now everyone's moaning about performance/results and wants to sack him.  Some are saying he has to get results against arse and spuds. with injuries and suspensions we have. jeez. no manager could do that. who cares. go to beach like the players and let them finish their experimentation.  Next season we can judge,, you guys and gals have too much time on your hands.

His job can't come down to the next 2 games most of the squad is bloody injured.

Was gonna say you can’t judge a manager on two games you judge him on his full reign and decide whether he’s made progress or not.

Either they’re backing him now over summer, or they’re keeping him until the summer and then binning him.
