It’s a football forum, get used to opinions that differ from yours.

Who said I don’t like it him.

I don’t like having a bloated squad of players that don’t play. He won’t have made an appearance for the club this season, and only made 500 mins last season.

so if he is here till 2020 that could be 500 mins in his last 3 seasons for the club.

Nothing to do with respect

It's a Leicester City forum get used to people pulling you up when you have a pop at club legends!

It's nothing to do with not liking people people with different opinions.

Although actually on this we probably share a similar opinion which is the club has outgrown his ability and it's time for him to move on.

The difference between us is I can hold this opinion with out questioning his impeccable professionalism or the money he is on. That is because I respect him for everything he did here, he played a huge part of a lot the big moments over the past 11 years.

Don't try and be clever about it, it clearly is about respect and that's why you're getting the reactions you are.

He dragged us back through the dirt at our lowest point, you ought to remember that before posting on the subject again.

Derby want him permanently.

Derby are in financial difficulties. The last thing they need is another ex PL player on a big salary on their wage bill. They need to offload a few high earners as it is so I doubt he will go there permanently. He'll be back here in the summer.

Definitely deserves a testimonial, surprised one hasn't happened as yet but maybe it's fitting such a thing in these days.

I'd be surprised if he wasn't elsewhere on a permanent basis in time for next season now though, like at a Championship club going places - unless maybe clubs are reluctant to sign a player who's been at one club for so long? I know he went out on loan to Swansea last season and is presently at Derby of course but I'd be surprised if he ever started in a Leicester first team again now.....not sure what Rodgers would make of him now though with all the midfield competition we have. All the same he's been a great servant to the club and has scored some crucial goals for us at crucial times of a season but a pernament move for him elsewhere is now quite a bit overdue - which is what we've been saying for the past two or three seasons now since we won the league.

In that case let’s give him a contract for life.

I thought he was back at City after being injured in January and ruled out for the remainder of the season? Unless there is a coaching role I'm sure he will move on - if he has started taking coaching qualifications. I hope he has a role at City, he has been a 'model professional'

I don't think he deserves a testimonial (unless receipts were to go to a charity) - nor any player save in exceptional circumstances eg injury ending a career. King will have earned more in the last year than the majority of us will earn in a lifetime. Testimoniasl belong to an age past

What are you talking about? Did you read this part of my post? "the club has outgrown his ability and it's time for him to move on.".

Realistically No one on this message board wants to give him a contract for life or even really see our his current contract, people know it's best for all if he moves on.

Your original post had a disrespectful tone and people rightly questioned it. Now your doubling down on it with weird irrelevant non points.

Great servert but doesn’t need a testimonial. Correct me if I’m wrong but in the past didn’t the gate money from testimonials go to the player? Modern players hardly need the extra cash nowadays. Unless it goes to the vichai srivaddhanaprabha foundation

Hmm. So handing out monies from a testimonial to a well-paid footballer are not your cup of tea, but handing it out to a foundation that's supported by a billionaire family is?

How about opting for a third choice, supporting local communities in Leics?

Most recent testimonials the money raised has gone to the players preferred charity, the testimonial is just fir fans to show their appreciation not to get them more £s

Was a great player in the bad old years and a bit part player ever since . The club has outgrown him unfortunately  and as for a testimonial I think it’s ridiculous idea . If he had been involved massively for all of those ten years then I’d agree but he’s been a bit part squad player for god knows how long and has been happy just to drift along .  Time for him and the club to part ways as it’s in the best interest for both  parties .

That's the spirit! Let's forget about all those shitty players we had in those 'bad old years'. Who cares about Lloyd Dyer and all those goals he scored in the championship and league 1. Steve Howard's goal against Leeds wasn't that important. Matty Fryatt, 2 hatricks in 2 games, could do that in my sleep, it was only League 1.

King is and always will be a club legend and will forever be one of my favourite players. The way he is being treated by some sections of our fan base is utterly disgraceful. Top scoring midfielder, won league 1, championship and Premier League, played in the champions league and is all round just a nice guy and perfect professional.

Shut up you idiot  I haven’t forgot any of those players and stop trying to make out I’m an Andy King hater . I said he was great player for us in the bad years which he was . But the cold truth of the matter is  he has been a bit part player  under the last 3/4 managers and since being in the prem  which speaks volumes of his fotballing capabilities. Yes he’s been loyal but so was Conrad Logan and did you want him staring ever week . As for being the highest scoring midfielder who doesn’t know that but those goals were mainly in the lower leagues and have since pretty much dried up . Now lets quote the predictable  he won  league 1, championship , premier league and playing in the champions league .How  many minutes did he actually  play in the last 2/3. . Yes he WAS a great player for us but that has long disappeared if we want to keep moving forward and not get relegated then we need to get rid of average bit part players

Football Clubs need to move on each year and try to improve their squads.  Salaries are our biggest expense (other than fees) and we cannot keep paying out vast sums on players because of what they have done for the Club during their employment.   Where would this stop?      This is not lack of respect for anybody, it is people saying that in their opinions a certain player needs to move on to enable the squad to change to ensure LCFC moves forward.

Nostalgia does and always will hold back progress.   Kingy deserves a testimonial for sure and Club should do everything possible to help him find a new Club.  Personally, I hope in the future he gets his badges and comes back and helps run say the academy or U23's, as the US23's needs a refreshing.

Totally,I can't believe that we have people (c**ts) who would even think of treating him this way.He deserves a Testimonial not for the money as I'm sure it would go to charity but just as a Thanks from us,he has won the League 1 Title,Championship Title & Premier League Title, surely that deserves more than a pat on the back and on your way son!

It was the club that offered the contract.

As for any testimonial if you don't think he deserves one or if it's even necessary then no one will be forcing you to attend so I really don't understand why anyone should be voicing disapproval at the idea.

Especially when it's a great way to raise money for some good causes.

I think testimonials are more about celebrating a player who has been a brilliant servant to the club rather than the money so I’m sure they would probably consider donating some of the proceeds if he had one which I definitely think he should
