Shut up you idiot  I haven’t forgot any of those players and stop trying to make out I’m an Andy King hater . I said he was great player for us in the bad years which he was . But the cold truth of the matter is  he has been a bit part player  under the last 3/4 managers and since being in the prem  which speaks volumes of his fotballing capabilities. Yes he’s been loyal but so was Conrad Logan and did you want him staring ever week . As for being the highest scoring midfielder who doesn’t know that but those goals were mainly in the lower leagues and have since pretty much dried up . Now lets quote the predictable  he won  league 1, championship , premier league and playing in the champions league .How  many minutes did he actually  play in the last 2/3. . Yes he WAS a great player for us but that has long disappeared if we want to keep moving forward and not get relegated then we need to get rid of average bit part players

Bit part as he was he scored goals in The Great Escape and 15/16 that kept us up and won us the league. You don’t have to be starting every game to be an integral part of a squad and realistically his impact on the squad only ended in 2017, that’s ten years on from his debut. Testimonial fully deserved.

Probably the most important goal ever was his last minute bundled in/deflected winning strike v West Ham for 2-1 in the Great Escape season, April 2015. Was lucky to be there for that one!

Fantastic player - most fans don't know what we have here in King or realise quite how good he is - the Welsh (English) Lampard! The King of Wales himself!

He's been misused in the latter part of his career. Stick him in a midfield three, let him arrive late into the box and he will get you goals. Not at all physically suited to playing in the middle in a 4-4-2.

Hopefully Rodgers figures it out.

Come off it, he's in no way comparable to Lampard, The King of Wales?? How often has he started for them in the last two years?

What an absolute legend this guy has been for us - he's been through all our recent highs and lows.

Unfortunately if we want to progress as a club we need better quality but never forget the impact he had even in our title winning season. The goal against West Brom and Everton were classy goals and his winner against West Ham in the great escape season started it all off.

If he is to go at the end of this season - all the best as he is 100% a club legend.

Shame that it’s come to this for Andy King, great attitude and on his day a fantastic player, but fans seem to want to slate him. I personally think he deserves a testimonial and a free transfer (if that’s what he wants) so he can earn a final payday.

Good luck in your future endeavours Andy King, May you continue playing for many years... :appl:

Are fans actually slating him?  Sad if true. Looks like the majority on here are giving an opinion that he is no longer good enough if we are to progress, but say he deserves a testimonial:dunno:

He's had his days in the sun. Lovely man, great professional,  but requires putting out to pasture now. The game and we have moved on, we require better. This is merely Mr Smooth quietly and respectfully  placating and showing a player to the door.

LCFC legend, has played a massive part in the club progress over the last 10 years. Great games, massive goals.

However progress and time stands still for me no one.

If we qualify for the Europa league I'd keep as we will be stretched, if we don't I'd move on and replace with a younger player to develop.

I would like to see Andy King given an opportunity by BR. Rogers has hinted in the Merc that he wants to assess his situation and i believe that he still has a lot to offer us. I predict an Andy King LCFC comeback under Brendon.

If he doesn't mind being very much a "cup game" player, I'd want him here next season, especially if as others have said we reach the Europa League. Let his contract run its course and then give him the respect due to make a career decision himself. I don't see him anywhere near the EPL First 18, though.

I love Kingy. His career with us pretty much mirrors mine following the Foxes (started watching again during the relegation to League One season) so I have a particular nostalgic sentimentality for him being a part of the club. He's probably my all-time favourite LCFC player for that reason alone. That said, I have to admit that he's never going to be a first choice midfielder for us again, and even as a back-up he's realistically joint fourth with James in the pecking order behind Mendy, Choudhary and even a fit Amartey.

Yes, he deserves a testimonial. Fans suggesting they wouldn't go are having a laugh - he is "Mr. Leicester City" - alongside Vardy, the closest we've had to someone of that mould since Walsh hung up his boots.

If his career here is over, which I've come to terms with over the past two seasons, so be it. It's kind of remarkable he even is still here. But if Brendan sees a role for him, however small, I support his judgement.

And be honest folks - one last Kingy goal in the blue of Leicester would be wonderful, even if this year has most likely broken his 11-year streak of scoring in consecutive seasons for us - surely a club record, if not up there across football in the modern era?

He was driving out of King Power at about 2pm on Saturday, as I was heading to get my free beer. (He stopped right in front of me and I thought, ‘That’s Andy King.’ His numberplate is KINGY, which was the key giveaway.) Thought it was weird that 1) he was there, and 2) he was leaving just before the match - but I guess that’s his life these days. A shame.

Which of Mendy, Choudhury, Ndidi, Tielemans, Amartey, James would you rate him better than in the current set up to warrant a place in a Premier League Leicester City team? (Amartey and James included because they may be fit to play in 1 match before King is ready.

Great servant to the club but needs to move on if he wants to play regular football, wasting what’s left of his career if he stays.

And it seems not that worried about seeing it drift away

I actually think he's still better than some of the shite we have on the bench.

Like who? Better than Mendy & Hamza? I don't think so.

Would definitely put him ahead of Amartey and James

Amartey is now more of a right back / centre back than a midfielder, he hasnt played in a midfield position since the 1st game last season vs Arsenal, since then he has always played at right back

James hasn’t touched a football in a first team match for over a year now, with his injury record now, I wouldn't be able to trust him to play competitively or keep up with the pace of Premier League football

King made 11 first team appearances last season for us before he left for Swansea for the 2nd half of the last season and made another 11 appearances for them, not including cup games

I would have more faith in King to do a job in midfield than James, and I don’t think Amartey has the ability to be a comfortable midfielder like King

So he would be 5th choice getting into cup teams and on the bench if we get a couple of injuries, but I still think he should leave for regular football

He's still like 7th choice at the moment, even a Europa League squad doesn't need that much depth.

No, but a Europa League squad requires a certain Home Grown player quota to be filled. He ticks every box in that regard

I hadn't considered that but surely we wouldn't have any problems meeting that quota regardless.

Pointing out that he played 11 games for Swansea isn’t much of an argument they got relegated that season
