germany not taking sane. okkkkk.

Yeah, Jogi Löw logic.

Prefers a player with twelve goals and seven assists in 34 games over a player with 14 goals and 19 assists in 49 matches.

That's a bit racist.

Just looked at Spain's qualifying record Played 10, won 9 and drew in Italy. Fairly weak group but they still only let in 3 goals.

Germany's qualifying group even better having won 10 out of 10 but probably an even weaker group.

Germany leaving out Sane, Can and Gotze lol

Serious depth.

Götze's never been the same since his breakdown. He's slowly getting back to his old self, but that could take another season.

Can has had a bit of a mediocre season and competes against Kroos, Gündogan, Khedira and Goretzka.

Sané's the talk of the day. Baffling.

Wonder what music BBC will go for in the opening credits. I suppose smart money is on Tchaikovsky but I'll stick my neck out and say Shostakovich.

Perhaps:

Opening credits: Waltz number 2.
End of Group Stages: Waltz of the Flowers.
Build up montage before crucial England knock-out game (that we inevitably lose): Sugarplum Fairy.
France get knocked out: 1812.

Suggestions welcome.

Pints for the winners.

I reckon it’s going to be a great tournament, I fancy Portugal for some reason. I think they’ve got a nice group bar Spain, and potentially when you look at the possible run ins, a pretty easy route to at least the semis. Germany will go Klose, England will fall at the first stage of the knockouts.

Dunno about the BBC but channel five have the theme tune for their highlight show picked out.

No suggestions from me but the BBC do need to up their game, ITV have ripped them a new one in the last two World Cups, though they did win the Euro 2016 opening titles battle so hopes are high!

ITV have had the best World Cup opening titles since I started watching in 1998.
