Kinda hope we are waiting until a bid is accepted and the price is set before we go in. That way, it avoids Lazio pushing a bidding war.

Seems to be getting bit pricey now though? Especially when you consider players like Elyounoussi potentially going for under half of that at £16m

I don't know too much about the player to be fair. Just read that he wasn't as involved in the first team for Lazio last season, so does seem pricey.

I'd lean more towards Thorgan Hazard at this point but as I said, I don't know too much about Anderson

Are West Ham really in for him though?

They were allegedly well down the line with Pastore who's ended up at Roma. I reckon it's their owners up to their old tricks again, looking like they're in for ballers but with no intention of actually paying the money.

In fairness, Curtis tweeted that he was on his way to join Sven’s revolution... got a call on the way and never arrived. Decided he thought it was a better offer.

and you can’t blame Pastore for thinking Roma is a better option than West Ham...

West Ham offering £35 mil for a player, Christ the owners there will be coming out in a cold sweat bidding that much for a player

It'll be in twenty yearly instalments if I know the Dildo Brothers.

Would be suprised if West Ham didn't get 7th this season tbh. Everton seem to be in the same position as us, too many plahers picking up a wage who are not good enough / squad too big.

Shame really, I thought out of all the players being mentioned this chap was the one to replace Mahrez to give us the flair we will lack now he’s gone....

A lot of Serie A fans on Reddit were saying they were amazed anyone would be willing to spend £40m on him, saying he was probably worth about £25m since he was now a reserve player (formation change) and with his inconsistency.

Felipe Anderson left the Lazio training ground early today, fuelling reports he will sign for West Ham United tomorrow.

A deal was struck today between the two clubs after intensive negotiations over several weeks.

The cost of the operation is expected to be in the region of €40m.

The 25-year-old attacking wide man, who can also play in midfield or as a support striker, left training early this afternoon, while his teammates were still hard at work.

Sky Sport Italia also showed him hugging a Lazio fan goodbye, as he is due in London tomorrow for a medical and to sign the contract.

It had already been reported today that West Ham applied for a work permit, meaning the move was imminent.

Last season, Felipe Anderson contributed eight goals and 10 assists in 32 competitive games for the Aquile.

Sounds to me like we might have dodged a bullet with this one.

Took the words out of my mouth. Not as good as Townsend

Always one club every season trying to be massive signing big names ie stoke, Portsmouth and QPR! It’s never worked or changed the monopoly of football. It takes stupid money chelsea/Man City to progress. West Ham will be no better than before

West Ham have made some decent signings but they too have some utter dross on their books. I am wondering how they are managing to get around ffp as they are splashing the cash. £37m on this guy, bid £25m for lascalles and not sure how much yarmolenko cost. They will surely need to sell some players to balance the books.
