The possibility of this is questionable but it is very exciting to think that we might have close to £60 million to spend on a winger if the owners are so inclined. I guess this calibre of player is bound to spring up.

No right winger will be signed before the Mahrez Situation isn't solved.

Good. As a lefty, I don't particular like right wingers anyway.

owners are famous for being tight

The owners have just captured one of the best managers in world football and have openly said they will spend more than ever this season.

Did we get a new manager?

I kind of like Puel actually, and think we are in for some interesting times.  Just hope we get a few more cool signings.

But the owners buy who they want in a massive scatter gun approach and not who the manager wants. They can spend all the money they want it'll misused money in the end

That's an interesting point, do the owners pick players to sign or do they leave it to the club to find and sign players. Then the owners just approve the signings.

This could account for the blind spots in our squad like the need for a  proper 10 for instance.

That was one of the big fall out points between their owners and bilic. He said numerous times he doesn't get to recruit the players he wants instead the owners are picking the players.

If that is the case. It's really not hard to see why they keep flopping.

But that will be their main expenditure this season. He has cost them a LOT of money. West Ham won't change until they have new owners.

Chuck £35m at Lazio, not like we are poor.

Couldn’t agree more - if we genuinely want to compete in and toward the top 6 we need players that can do it every week.

Even though they've just rejected that offer.

Yeah I wasn’t sure if they were after 38 million euros and were offered 35 million euros by WHam. Can’t remeber the desired asking price now!

I'm talking pound notes, they are talking monopoly Euros.

I'd be moderately confident that this is B/S  or that the offer is couched in all sorts of add-ons - the dildo bros. got their name for their approach to bidding on players

In my opinion, this summer is a big chance to cement our place alongside Everton as ‘the best of the rest’. We’re going to have to spend, but Pereira is a good start.

All of the Mahrez money will have to go on replacing his goals & assists, and this guy alongside Hazard is about the best we can do. We can't afford to start next season with no attacking midfielders who can weigh in with more than 5 goals/assists.

50 million Euro is roughly £43.5m right now.

If we've learnt anything from the past, it's that the transfer fees ghosting in the media don't always represent the true numbers.

My guess is we could still get Felipe Anderson for £40m or less - depending on the extra clauses and add-ons.

Lazio are going to drive a hard bargain on this one; we may be better off splitting the difference and getting 2 (Roberts / Maddison) for 1 Anderson.
