Which might work up until the point where Musa turns up at Man City for pre season and Mahrez is bundled onto a plane headed for Saudi.

I'm surprised no conspiracy theorist has mentioned yet that the Saudi club literally has 'Riyad' in its name.

I refuse to believe this until I see anything confirmed by the club.

There's no way we're letting him go for that...

If it's true great news, wev'e got over 100m to spend hopefully, get rid of Ulloa( i like his song),Slimani, Kaputska,Mendy etc and free up some wages and give N'didi and Maguire a good pay rise.

I'll believe it when it happens. I just think the price is media hyped. Cash rich the Saudis may be but their not idiots. They'll roughly know his worth (the true one being less than we paid) and they'll also know he's been out on loan and there may have been other loan offers. Leicester for example would snap their hands off for 16m let's face it,  great business.  They're money will be spent in huge wages trying to get Musa to go there.

It might be the £40 million is the total package including wages. Some countries lob that in when fees are reported.

Musa is a very muslim man and is very much a practicing muslim. So he would have no issue living in Saudi for years opposed to other big name players who wouldn't hack it.. so kind of makes sense why they want him.

I'm not sure that's how it works.

In fact, I'm pretty sure that Saudi Arabia is different culturally and societally than Nigeria or the UK, whether a practicing Muslim or not.

Oh I see, didn't know that. ?

Either way it would be the answer to one problem! If we could recoup most of the purchase price it would make it more palatable for our owners to let some of our others go at a reasonable  loss. I can't really blame them for not spending much more than they have this summer until some of these things have been sorted. The ongoing wage bill must be sky high for players that aren't even going to get a look in. Our most recent purchases seem a lot more pragmatic and will always be there or there about the first team or squad I would think.

To be honest £40m including wages would still be probably £25m as a transfer fee which is extraordinary and I may be completely wrong anyway.

if there is a bidding war between two parties then the price could easily rise, esp after that world cup performance and the Saudis aren't exactly short of a few bob or two, it could actually happen.

I'm waiting for Mahrez to comment saying that Ahmed deserves a move to a bigger club like the Saudis.

True, it always appears to me that the Saudis look down on their non-Saudi Muslim 'brothers' more so than they look down on non-believers!

If we get 40m for Musa it will make the Mahrez deal look like we gave him away. Some fecker has got a great dealer. £40m for musa lol lol lol lol lol

We all might think he is naff but surely he would be one of the best players in thier league if he went, we might think it’s OTT but he would be worth it to them

Wash your mouth out sir. This is Ahmed The Moose Musa you are talking about. Future of the club and as some have rightly pointed out, better than Neymar. Posters are only deriding him in the vain hope that the Saudi’s will believe he is rubbish and not steal him from us for a frankly insulting £49 million.

That and his burning desire to be a petrol tycoon.
