MC Prussian Posted 6 April 2019 Author Posted 6 April 2019 RC Strasbourg are in the Europa League! Félicitations! This following a 4-1 win after penalties against Guingamp in the French cup final. Been to Strasbourg before and am pondering a visit to the stadium for one of the matches.

spacemunky Posted 13 April 2019 Posted 13 April 2019 Sancho with both of Dortmund's goals, so far in the first half against Mainz.
Voll Blau Posted 15 April 2019 Posted 15 April 2019 1st v 2nd in the 2 Bundesliga tonight, Koln v Hamburg. Should be a good game. A Koln win would put them 10 points clear and an incentive to the chasing pack looking to overtake HSV into the automatic places.
CosbehFox Posted 15 April 2019 Posted 15 April 2019 Some derbies over the weekend - Genoa, Seville, Copenhagen, Istanbul (x2), Liege v Anderlecht. Some cracking tifo's

Went behind 1-0 after a cheap own goal, then down to ten men after 36 minutes. Rest was all Lille's. Happy for the league, as it would've become way too one-sided otherwise. Hope PSG lose a few more between now and the end of the season. A bit surprised to see OSC in 2nd spot, with bigger French teams behind them. Still, Pépé and Rafael Leão... Premier League material. Or Dortmund/Bayern/Barcelona/Real Madrid.
MC Prussian Posted 18 April 2019 Author Posted 18 April 2019 PSG continue trying to make Ligue 1 a little bit more exciting, it seems. Lost their second game in a row now, 3-2 at lowly Nantes - first time the club has suffered consecutive league defeats in seven (!) years. Still not Ligue 1 champions as of yet. That Dani Alves goal, though.
MC Prussian Posted 21 April 2019 Author Posted 21 April 2019 Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the first player to win a league title in England, Spain and Italy.
MC Prussian Posted 22 April 2019 Author Posted 22 April 2019 Congrats to PAOK for securing the first Greek league title in 34 years! https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48008126 Now also close to winning the double.
KrefelderFox666 Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 The Bundesliga has moved Frankfurt's game on matchday 33 (penultimate) from Saturday 11th May to Sunday 12th May to help with the Europa League fixture on the 9th May. This is even though the last 2 matchdays are usually all played on the same date and time. Unlike the Eredivisie, they didn't just move the whole matchday for all teams (that sounded crazy). Imagine the PL doing that.
Brainy Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 That is perhaps why the PL always have the last game on the Sunday? Not sure how often the final weekend of the season then has a CL game the week after though (obviously creating an issue with any English club having to play on the Tuesday)

Nobody's won it in 34 years? Unbelievable, Geoff!

StanSP Posted 25 April 2019 Posted 25 April 2019 Getafe vs Real Madrid is on ITV4 at the moment. Knew Getafe were doing well but not that well - in contention for Champions League football next season having only been back in La Liga for 2 seasons (this their 2nd) following promotion. And their manager has only been there since the start of the season. Sounds very familiar minus winning the league
MC Prussian Posted 27 April 2019 Author Posted 27 April 2019 Dortmund lose the Revier derby against Schalke 2-1. That means, unless Bayern slip up against Nuremberg tomorrow, it will be a very tough ask for Dortmund to challenge Bayern with three more matches to go. Never say never, though.
