It's not his fault though, we are skint apparently. Brighton are just a bigger club.

Normally I'd agree that the hysteria is unnecessary but that's only painting a snapshot in time. We're 2 weeks further down the line without adding anymore signings. We had Mahrez and looked like we were bringing in another wide player to go some way to replacing him. We've made 3 really good signings, but all absolute necessities.

 

The fact that we haven't brought in another wide player of some quality means we're just treading water. We've got Gray, Albrighton and Diabate. 2 unprovens and a solid player. Where's the X factor? Of course we couldn't get somebody in of Riyad's quality but we look very light going forward without somebody a bit more established or at the very least, another option in that position.

 

Can't blame people for being concerned.

Didn’t CP say we have 31 first team players. Potentially not including the World Cup players. There is no room for many more - we can’t keep bringing them without clearing some space.

Few weeks ago after our 3 signings people were like hail rudkin we will make top 7. Now we havnt signed this guy who most people on this forum hadnt even heard of its all rudkin out were getting relegated ??

We literally signed someone about three days ago, about 24 hours after his name appeared and there are still another two or three weeks until the window closes.

 

There is concern and there is child like hysteria.

Mad isn’t it! Over the last four seasons almost all the players we’ve signed have come out of nowhere and usually have very short threads on here! It’s how we do business

The Ward signing went through so quickly because Liverpool couldn't believe they'd been offered £12m for their 4th choice keeper who'd played 3 times for them in 6 years.

12mill and a 20% sell on fee to Liverpool. Probably the worse business deal of the decade
