I'm not sure tbh but people are just too quick to dismiss people as not good enough on here with very little actual evidence to base it on

Partly what led to us believing he was being retained as back up after he did alright in pre-season.

Later that year he got sent out to Barnsley but struggled to get back to himself after injury. Now he’s been injured again at Ipswich. He looks okay, not saying he’s going to start for us and be a great player but there  is a back up player in there.

davieG Posted 3 April 2019 Posted 3 April 2019 . Daniel Iversen The Danish goalkeeper recorded his 12th clean sheet of the season in League Two as Oldham beat Grimsby in their first match since the departure of Paul Scholes. Iversen made four saves in the 2-0 win, the Latics’ first victory in seven outings.  George Thomas Thomas’ Scunthorpe remain in the thick of the League One relegation battle after a 2-1 home defeat to Wimbledon. Thomas played 74 minutes before being substituted, GrimsbyLive awarding him a 5. They wrote: “His lack of pace hurt him in the game. Scunthorpe needed him to be the driving force and he failed to do so.”  Bartosz Kapustka and Elliott Moore Kapustka suffered a serious knee injury as OH Leuven lost 1-0 at home to relegation rivals Tubize. The Polish winger, on as a half-time substitute, was stretchered off in the 85th minute and is set to undergo surgery on his cruciate ligament. Moore played 90 minutes in the defeat, which leaves City's sister club Leuven two points above the sole relegation place with four matches remaining in the bottom-of-the-table play-offs.  Adrien Silva Monaco lost for the first time since Silva’s arrival, but the Portuguese midfielder’s personal unbeaten run continues. Monaco recorded four wins and three draws in Silva’s first seven matches, but the midfielder missed the weekend’s match with bottom-of-the-table Caen after he received a suspension for picking up three yellow cards. And for the first time since January, Monaco were defeated, losing 1-0. Filip Benkovic The Croatian centre-back missed a fraught Old Firm Derby, won 2-1 by Celtic, with his ankle still not quite right. Benkovic missed two months with an ankle problem sustained in January but returned as a substitute in a 1-0 win over Dundee in mid-March. However, Celtic boss Neil Lennon said the 21-year-old was still “a little big ginger on his foot” and so he was left out of the clash with Rangers.  Josh Knight Knight played 45 minutes for Peterborough’s reserve side against Plymouth on Tuesday as he entered the final stage of his recovery from an ankle injury sustained on his Posh debut. He could be named among the substitutes this weekend as Peterborough look to boost their League One play-off hopes with a win over Gillingham. The rest Darnell Johnson is back in training with Hibernian and approaching full fitness after a minor groin operation. Callum Elder remains sidelined with an injury and so missed Ipswich’s 2-0 defeat to Hull. The Tractor Boys are 13 points from Championship safety with seven games to go. Islam Slimani (Fenerbahce) and Fousseni Diabate (Sivasspor) both had a weekend off with the Turkish Super Lig not returning to action until next week. Andy King (Derby) is out for the season with an ankle injury.  https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leicester-city-loan-watch-monaco-2712623

Foxxed Posted 3 April 2019 Posted 3 April 2019 Darnell out of the hibs squad still. What an utter waste of a loan. They don't get to play him. We don't get to see if he can do well in a better league than PL2.

Don't see the point in us loaning them out for that, we should pop in a clause on game time stipulations.

Maybe a bit harsh as well - sounds like the journalist wasn’t there and so just pasted some comments from another source that maybe had an axe to grind! Whatever their reasons though it’s not that positive at all.

So the club offered him another contract, makes perfect sense to do so in those circumstances.Â

Player development is linear, some develop early, some develop later.  After a lean period the clubs Academy is bring to come to fruition, with Chilwell, Barnes, Hamza etc. I see enough evidence there to have faith in the club Academy start to make the right choices.

Throw in a red card challenge on debut, you can see why the current management staff at Hibs.Â

I think in addition to this loan, the SPL is also an 'utter waste of time'. Send him to the Championship for a year - it worked for Harvey.

We don't know if there was any interest from the championship. In fact I'd suggest it's doubtful there was given that Knight went to League one Peterborough and he was in much better form of the two
