Darnell Johnson

Johnson hasn’t featured in a Hibs squad for five games following his two-match suspension for a stamp on Celtic's Emiliano Izaguirre in early February.

Swear I saw him at the training ground earlier on Maddison's Instagram story. Could he be back down here doing work or playing for our u23's during the suspension?

Leicester City loan watch: Adrien Silva remains unbeaten, Fousseni Diabate leads the line
How City's loan contingent fared over the weekend

SPORT

With injuries piling up for Leicester City's on-loan contingent, just four of the 12 played for their sides this weekend.

Here's how they got on - and when the others might be back.

Adrien Silva

There was another 90-minute run-out for Silva, who remains unbeaten as a Monaco player after this weekend’s 1-1 draw with Bordeaux.

The Portuguese midfielder continues to earn rave reviews from Monaco fans – just as Youri Tielemans does at City – although he is risking a suspension in the near future after collecting his third yellow card in six outings.

Fousseni Diabate

Diabate made his seventh consecutive Sivasspor start as the Turkish side ended their three-game losing streak with a 2-0 win over Yeni Malatyaspor.

The Malian has been playing as a right winger since making his loan switch but he led the line on Friday night in the absence of former Wigan and Everton striker Arouna Kone. However, he was not involved in either goal.

Daniel Iversen

Iversen made four saves as Oldham drew 1-1 at Cambridge in League Two.

But the Dane has now gone six games without a clean sheet – his longest streak without a shutout since joining the Latics on loan.

George Thomas

Brought on as a half-time substitute, Thomas could not help Scunthorpe get back into their game against Bristol Rovers, who left Glanford Park with a 1-0 win.

Thomas was awarded a 6 for his showing by GrimsbyLive, who wrote: “He was lively when brought on at half-time and looked to be direct, getting in good positions, but didn’t create much in the final third.”

Islam Slimani

Slimani’s season could well be over.

For the third straight league game, the Algerian was left out of the matchday squad by Fenerbahce and reports from Turkey suggest he will be excluded for the rest of the campaign.

Callum Elder

The Australian left-back is recovering from a hip problem and so missed relegation-threatened Ipswich’s 1-1 draw at West Brom.

Josh Knight

The young defender is expected to return to Peterborough this week after receiving treatment at City for an ankle injury he suffered on his Posh debut.

Darnell Johnson

The wait goes on for Johnson’s second Hibernian appearance, the young defender again missing from the squad this weekend as the Edinburgh outfit drew 1-1 with Rangers.

Filip Benkovic

The Croatian centre-back has returned to training but is yet to make an appearance since injuring his ankle back in January, and so missed Celtic’s 0-0 draw with Aberdeen.

Bartosz Kapustka and Elliott Moore

City’s sister club OH Leuven were not in action this weekend.

They continue their preparations for the Belgian second tier’s relegation play-offs, which begin later this month.

Andy King

King’s season is over after suffering an ankle injury.

Slimani's career has collapsed. What on earth has happened?

Attitude?

He signed a 5 year contract with us so this is really bad news for us and lessens our chnces of getting rid of him in hte summer. Hard to imagine he's the type of player Rodgers would want around and after disastrous loan spell at Newcastle and now in Turkey, hard to see where he goes. Hopefully the loan fees have at least recouped a very small part of his 28 million fee.

According to Turkish news reports, he's just in a terrible slump mentally and the manager doesn't seem to hold Slimani in high regards. The fans have also made their anger clear at the player, seems like he's not very liked over in Istanbul. Lastly, Fenerbahçe's squad is bloated, so I suppose the manager is already in the process of trimming it down to the players he trusts and depends on, coupled with a focus on younger players. Slimani turns 31 in three months, and you could argue he's about to enter the fall of this career.

So we have him for two more years?!?

Exactly. I don't think he's that bad, not worth 28M, but his attitude is terrible. He was constantly moaning and berating players around him whilst here. Has to be the biggest waste of money in our history.

What did Thomas cost £450,000. Expensive gamble.

Expensive gamble lollol

He was signed when the new U23 league former for the specific purpose of playing for us in it and then having some resale value. If he does well at Scunny we could easily get a million for him.

Theres plenty of players in that squad that we’re only signed to be loaned out for fees and then sold.

We've had some truly disastrous loans this half season:

- Elder, injured at Ipswich

- Knight, injured at Peterborough

- Darnell, only just back from injury at Hibs and didn't get in the team yesterday

A real pity because Elder could be a free backup for Chilwell and wouldnt need to keep Fuchs on the books. And with Knight and Darnell we could afford to sell Soyuncu since there's apparent interest.

He's had three championship loans now and barely got a look in, not sure why he's still contracted with us at his age

Because he's the best left back we have after Chilwell and Fuchs? And Fuchs will probably be leaving. Ughelumba was looking decent until he was shunted into centre back in the u23s, mind.

Is Silva injured too? Not in the squad for Monaco’s game today. They’re currently 1-0 down at home to Caen.

”Adrien Silva suspendus". What for, I'm not sure, since he has three yellows, not a lot of yellows nor a red, but of the team he is. Hopefully they'll miss him after this loss and be happier to splash the cash, or to keep our youri here and keep their silva there.
