Same team as Old Trafford except Mendy in for Silva, happy with that. Evans looked poor last week and Ricardo looked great further up the pitch.

Lets see what we can do when the opponent doesn't get a penalty within 30 seconds.

Let’s hope we don’t concede 5 either with that back 4 lol

                   Schmeichel

Amartey - Morgan - Maguire - Chilwell

                 Mendy - Ndidi

     Ricardo - Maddison - Gray

                    Iheanacho

Or

                     Schmeichel

        Amartey - Morgan - Maguire

Ricardo                                   Chilwell

                  Mendy - Ndidi

                     Maddison

               Iheanacho - Gray

Or both depending on what happens?

Fotmob went with your first one but if it's the second it makes a lot more sense with Morgan coming back in. Here's hoping we see the second one at least for a bit as it's the only formation likely to get iheanacho and vardy to work in  the future.

Also makes sense to give iheanacho some support as he didn't look like scoring at old Trafford.

Happy enough either way, but happier with the second.

Heres hoping

Evans was dodgy first half but much better second. Morgan is dodgy every f****** week.

If we lose Claude’s head on the block

Well Lukaku didn’t score, so not literally.

He was pretty rubbish last week, and doesn’t look up to speed.

Cos Evans was not very good last week.

So not literally, cos they didn’t score!

Evans wasn’t very good? For the first 15/20 minutes you mean. His first league game in a new team, started off shaky and then settled into the game very well but overall he kept a clean sheet. Something we won’t do today.

Yet some screaming fannies will have you believe Morgan is picking the team.

I'm sure Morgan knows his days are numbered, he is 35 after all. It's his last season here and he's smoothing over the transition for one of the new lads to take his place.

Gave himself a rest last week, smart.

Yeah Evans had a poor start last week, but he grew into the game and finished strongly, with a clean sheet for the team.  Surely Puel would want to give him and Maguire a chance to establish a partnership?  Defence looks shaky with Dan and Wes...... I just suffered a massive loss of confidence!

I'm a bit lost. If we aren't bothered about having an attacking RB then why don't we play Simpson? Its not like Amartey is going to add much in the opposition half so I can't see any benefit.

On last weeks showing, Morgan for Evans is fine.

Pereira is more of a winger than a right back anyway.

Brilliant going forward but positionally all over the place when asked to defend.

Yeah, Morgan himself was the first to say we need fresh legs in this team, at the end of last year :)

I think it was pretty clear how fortunate we were to keep a clean sheet last week.

I’m sure we will have good spells and bad spells during the game, I’m sure certain players will get slated then praised during the game. What I do know though is that we’ve looked good enough to be able to beat Southampton despite who we play so long as our players concentrate and play the best they can.

Can't see us getting a clean sheet with that back four. Can't see us getting 2/3 goals without Vardy. Hope to be proved spectacularly wrong!

maybe Amartey is in one of 3 CB today? he looked solid when he came on last weekend,

could be an another today as Ricardo can still bomb up and down the wing

I think Pereira will play as a full back at home and a winger away. Amartey's being picked because his versatility allows us to change formation easily without using a sub.

I am happy with the side.  We'll start flat back 4 but can switch if need be

Riccardo looks far better in the attacking half and is more gifted technically than Albrighton so this formation gets him playing their and will make us stronger in the final 3rd.

Morgan in for Evans is interesting, but Wes is stronger and faster that could prove useful against Shane Long who does like a scrap, IMO Wes would be up for that far more than Evans who does seem lightweight for the physical demands of playing centre back.

Looking forward to seeing Nachoman for a few games, I have an feeling his link up play with Maddison, Gray and Riccardo will be better than Vardy - very much a case of can he get in the right areas to get some goals

This.

Simpson is a better RB than Amartey is. If we're playing 3/5 at the back, with Amartey as a CB, then I could possibly see it.

Either way, not particularly awed by the line up.
