It is good to buy a prospect for the long term, but add his £13m to the £12m we paid for Ward and there goes £25m without strengthening the team.  Fair enough, if it wasn't for the fact that that money could have been used toward filling that glaring Mahrez-sized hole on the right wing.  Opportunity missed.

because he was available and we are thinking about the future, with Wes leaving next Summer. Sending him straight out on loan is a smart bit of business, as he can get game time and we can have him back next Summer, ready to be integrated into the first team squad

I guess I'll try to watch some Scottish football then.

Probably a wise move if Maguire, Evans, Soyuncu and Morgan are ahead of him.

Good point, this news has just made watching Celtic potentially interesting. A thought I haven’t had for decades and wasn’t expecting any time soon  ?

We are building for the future, something that the club has neglected over the last few years. 

Mahrez was never the type of player that is easy to replace but that doesn't mean you can't improve the rest of the club.

I get that, we must have the youngest squad in the PL but we mustn't neglect the here and now.  Replacing Mahrez doesn't mean we have to find the new Mahrez, but we are a winger short, we had time to plan and we should have got a top quality right winger.  We might regret not doing so.

I’m not sure why Ward wanted to come to us to be honest,  especially now Kasper has signed a new deal.

benkovic is fine given Morgan, Maguire (and Benny) will leave in the summer.  Plan for the future and all that.

Being number two at a top club like Leicester is a good place to be. He is young as far as goalies go & the chances are that Schmeichel will get injured and he will get his chance.

Not to mention he'll be almost guaranteed to start all of our cup games which hopefully will amount to quite a few appearances for him. He wasn't even getting ahead of Mignolet and Karius at Liverpool.

Look at that we're loaning out our players to Celtic, it's not that long ago they were taking our manager and best players.

Christ. Just goes to show how things have changed, when little old Leicester City loans a player to Glasgow Celtic because Leicester wants the player (who wouldn't get a game) to develop and get some time on the pitch. 

Love it. And great move for Benkovic too.

I just feel sorry for the lad, he signs for us with his own high expectations gets one sub appearance in a crappy cup then gets farmed out up to Scotland after only a few weeks . Yes you could argue well at least he is playing regularly but we’ve bought him and then just farmed  him out

Why is this even a question? It makes absolute perfect sense and I think Puel even alluded to something like this when we signed him. I reckon folk will use any old stick to beat Puel with at the minute it’s ****ing embarrassing.

You have no idea how Gezzall will turn out, i’m not saying he’s going to be anywhere near Mahrez level but nobody has seen enough evidence yet to suggest otherwise.

I'm sure it was discussed at the time of signing, his contract was expiring so he needed to be locked up. Fantastic job by City

So, who will you brought with €25 mill to replace mahrez? Will you rather let the money stay in the bank just to buy defender like benkovic for a least €40 mill next season when morgan, and maybe maguire left? 

Do you know how much our €17 mill maguire now worth? Hes becoming at least €60 mill in just 1 year.

Because we have Morgan, Benny, and Fuchs who can play there, but they'll be gone by next year. Plus, don't forget that the big clubs might come poaching for Maguire again.
