Iborra on for Iheanacho and Shinji on for Maddison. Maddison was shattered and offered very little. Shinji would’ve buzzed around like normal and Iborra would give the extra protection as well as an aerial presence when we should’ve been lumping the ball up.

But it if I was manager I’d have dragged Morgan as soon as he made that silly foul on the halfway line so wouldn’t have been down to ten men lol

Usually I’d agree but there was a feeling of inevitability with that sending off. With him already being sent off this season in similar circumstances I think it was a gamble by Puel that didn’t need to be taken. I’m not one that gets on the back of the manager often but I do think he cost us against Everton

Hard to say. Wes was at his limit and it's not the first time but taking the captain out for a yellow? A midfielder yes, but it's not that simple when it comes to the CB pair. Furthermore, it's not like we were losing and we were having a good second half until his silly mistake.  That's a 50/50 decision that unfortunately back fired.

Obviously it's frustrating and I do understand the point, but the ones pushing it are the same usual suspects just taking it as an umpteenth excuse to push their "Puel out" agenda and that's what irks me. They're jumping on every occasion to slate him to the point where any reasonable debate becomes impossible. There is absolutely 0 acknowledgement from them about anything he got right.

Moronic threads like this, with an OP just full of insults about the manager and no coherent argument, should be deleted or merged, there are more than enough "Puel Out" threads on this forum.

Erm, did you read the OP. There is nothing negative about Puel in it. It was an attempt to raise a talking point without criticising the manager. There are hundreds of combinations of subs to make in that situation I just assumed he would stick Evans on for Nacho but he didn’t I’ve spoken to others about it and they had different ideas of how to react which they all thought were obvious. We all act on here like we are qualified managers so this is your chance.

As for Puel I’m firmly on the fence, in this game I wouldn’t have made the subs he did but I don’t think he was wrong to make them.

Good point. I was shocked Marriner didn't send Wes off for that. It was more reckless than the one he did get the 2nd yellow for lol

I replied in the wrong thread and am truly sorry about that. Nothing wrong with your OP. Will edit my post.

No need to apologise. We know whose fault it is really.

In what will probably be the first in a very short lived series of one I thought I would ask the Foxes Talk faithful what they would do in a key decision in the match.

This one is quite obvious. Your captain and premier league winning centre back has just been sent off. The game is poised at 1-1, you have the momentum but find yourselves down to 10 men. We all know the game situation and what Puel did, but what changes would you have made?

(Let's try not to turn this into a Puel or Morgan bashing thread we have enough of them)

I would put in Albrighton and sit in, maybe launch a few counterattacks but focus on keeping it 1-1 to the final whistle.

OP said no Puel bashing thread. Hindsight is also a wonderful thing. No one hooks a CB off because he's on a yellow.

I am certainly not Puel bashing and actually think the long term direction that appears to be Puel’s plan is a positive and potentially bright future for a young and vibrant team/squad.

i said to my friend at half time that the right side bookings meant we could be in trouble and if I were Silva I would be telling my side to attack down the left and in to the two already booked right side defensive players. Neither player could make a tackle without fearing the worst and as an attacker you will exploit anything and everything to gain the advantage.

Hindsight in this instance it wasn’t and quite a few of us sitting in the ground at half time all agreed that we were on thin ice.I just think Puel and indeed his support staff should have reacted to the danger and made a change to at least give an option to deal with as it turned out the increasing attacks down the left side in the second half.

As it transpired, the lack of doing anything meant that the game and our improved attacking impetus in the second half was definitively changed by the sending off..........it just could have been avoided.

I would’ve taken off Amartey, being the younger, much more inexperienced player. The fact that it was Morgan who got the second yellow is all on him. If you can’t trust your vastly experienced captain, who can you trust? Hindsight is a wonderful thing. If it had been Daniel who got sent off no doubt the moaners would’ve been berating Puel for not taking him off instead.

This does, however, give Puel the perfect opportunity to slide Wes to the bench upon his return. Hopefully he takes that chance but if Wes is impressing more than the others in training upon his return and earns a recall then who can argue when we’re not there watching them on the training field.

Bournemouth it is then. Nice part of the country too. :)

I wouldn’t have let it get that far. It was clear Morgan was half a tackle away from another booking. He had been given a word by the ref, and it happened right in front of the dug out.

Evans on for Morgan and it would have been 11 v 11.

I think the subbing off Wes is a bit overdone now. Yes it was an avoidable mistake but Puel 's not the only manager that would have that. There are many reasons to think Puels a poor manager (and this didn't help) but what's done is done. Let's move on.

Good point!! And it just shows from the response on here how difficult it is to be a manager. So many differing view points it is impossible for any manager to get it right!

I'd also bet 99% of us wouldn't have expected our most experienced player, captain and leader, who should know a lot better, to be making suckered into making silly tackles in a needless position on the half way line and getting sent off, or our prolific scorer missing a one on one and two half chances, or Armartey missing an absolute sitter in the last minute, all of which most probably cost us the match.

Managers can't win!

That's exactly how we called it at the time (also called for the subbing of Wes before he got the red as did most sitting around us).

I think you are an ostrich.

Your head must be in the sand. Is your head in the sand?

Are you flexible enough to get your head in the sand?

My suspicion would be no.
