Last stand!

Brave or stupid depending upon your view

IMO IF he has dropped him it just confirms to me how clueless he is as its not whether Vards is droppable but more about how the hell has he managed to make one of  our biggest threats  so ineffective....his blunt footballing style without mixing it with our strengths shows  how he is a one dimensional manager who tactically is incompetent.

No way will the owners back him much  longer and expect a good beating if Vardy is dropped as he is a pivotal part of a dressing room which  is already frustrated  with  tactics!

So when defenders can't adapt to new styles of play they are useless old frauds. But when forwards can't adapt it's the managers fault.... Classic FT

You're kidding yourself if you can't see that as anything but it being an absolute inevitability that Puel will get the boot.

Our attack has no depth. You cannot get away with that.

If we lose tomorrow he's gone. No doubt in my mind now.

Brave decision if true, not what I'd do as I just think we have stick with someone as clinical as Vardy but it shows balls.

Still think people are getting carried away about his job, I don't think he's under threat unless we are in and around the bottom three.

14/1 to go next mate!

I still think the owners like him.

I agree with Puel on this but if we lose tomorrow he's gone.

This has now been said for about ten different matches since March last year.

If he drops Vardy he is the mother of all idiots. Very brave In a macho sense but simply shows the lunacy of his judgement. Prefers to try and form a side to his tactics as opposed to getting the best out of the players at his disposal. Signing his P45 if he does and bloody good riddance.

I don't know, you live and die by your decisions. It's a big one, could make or break him.

Some of our best football has come without him being involved, so we'll see. But someone needs to take any chances and I'm not sure if he others can.

Lost 4 of our last 6, so potentially 5/7 tomorrow, can't see him surviving that.

He's only an idiot if it doesn't work.

Percy usually tells the truth. Will be interesting to see what happens but Vardy was by far our worst player against Arsenal. I put it down to illness but if you’re the manager, you make all your subs and then your star man comes off “ill“ with 10 minutes to go after you’ve sacrificed other players so your star man can play then I could totally understand the decision for one game.

Counter argument is that it was obvious to everyone that it was a Vardy off day and should have made way so either Maddison or Nacho could stay on.

The most interesting thing to me is the sub plot behind this news. Someone, somewhere behind the scenes is very anti Puel. Could be a player, a coach or both. That for me is more worrying. Our team has been successful when we’ve all banded together, fans, management and players. If that unity is broken then it’s a slippery slope and not good for anyone. Sure we can replace the manager but then we have to start again with a new philosophy, players, etc.

I really wish we could all just get behind the team!

Vardy’s got two goals from open play this season and has offered little else. In fact he’s been really wasteful.

Last season’s Vardy would be a huge loss but it’s hard to see his replacement tomorrow contributing any less.

Difficult to adapt when you never see the bloody ball and you are told to just work the centre  half's and not  make runs closing down......you must not have ever seen Vardy play as he is being completely blunted by the system and lack of mixing our game which  would  play  to one of biggest assets strengths

No issue with developing our possession  game  but not so we are just as one dimensional but with the ball which is dull, bang average in pace and creativity whilst not utilising any of our strengths.

Some fans are deluded and have not worked out that Claude is a fraud and the quicker we get an inspirational tactician who can produce a team that can mix tactics the better

This could go the same way it went for Gullit when he dropped Shearer. Nasty business, but Vardy has been shit recently so I don't necessarily blame him. Puel doesn't tend to care about poor performances though for his main players, he prefers to play them back to form. If he goes with Gray up top instead then he's a helmet, surely it's Iheanacho?

I don't think it's a stupid decision. Vardy has been poor this season. The style of football we're playing also doesn't suit him as much as it did before when we countered aggressively with through balls. Vardy likes to run onto balls off the last defender's shoulder and we just don't play like that anymore. I just don't think of Vardy as someone who can face the play, control the ball, turn and take defenders on. He's never really played like that.

Thing is, we don't really have any other decent strikers. Nacho's ok but not clinical enough and a bit hit and miss.

He's been in poor form, I don't see this as a bad decision at all. Mahrez got dropped during his poor runs of form, Vardy is no exception.

And what happened to Mahrez.

Neither of them are a great option!

I thought we all knew Morgan picked the team anyway?

If he has indeed been dropped then it's not without justification. Assuming Gray's ready then you'd assume it's him, Maddison and Ricardo behind Iheanacho, but I've given up trying to predict what Claude's going to do. Hope it works otherwise he's going to be receiving all sorts of shit

Don’t call Claude a fraud and expect people to take you seriously. Just silly.

*Ive just seen you describe Danny Simpson as a ‘quality full back’. My bad, clearly a troll.

I don’t see how some can agree to drop him. He’s struggling with service and he’s missed two games he’s not doing that bad. Hopefully we can still get a result but it’s a different game when he’s not on the pitch, you can’t play balls round the side or over the top because none of our other strikers make them runs. Not ideal if he want to keep his job also the players know who there best striker is and if he’s fit and not starting it’s not going to go down well.

Maybe it’s to try and get Vardy motivated again. Hopefully we see a better Vardy now he’s seen he will be dropped if not performing.

Could be the Moretti talking but he's clearly tasked Vardy to temper his  "look for every over the top ball" style for a less mobile "occupy the centre halves" style which doesn't get the best out of him. Vardy's effectiveness has been stunted by Puel's boring system and now he's paying the price.

Or Vardy isnt motivated anymore as he is here 4 more years on mega money, done everything you can do etc.
