Were you at the Liverpool game?

For ease of discussion I've not attended a home game since Peterborough in league one haha.

Whenever I manage to watch us though, I very rarely notice Vardy getting involved. Hasn't looked on it properly in a while to me. Maybe im missing his great performances

Imo, Vardy playing against Liverpool would have given us a better chance of a point .......

he he was poor on Monday but there was a reason for that. Dropping him clearly shows that Puel was not informed of his health issue prior to the game or Vardy wouldn’t be held responsible for his grim display .......  if Puel was part of the decision to play him then this course of action tomorrow is going to go down very badly with the players ........

Fantastic decision, he's making his way through the old guard and letting them know they're not untouchable. If you're out of form, you're out.

To me it points towards my theory that JV lied to Puel about being ill at half time so that he could stay on, which left Puel in a shit situation second half.

Shit that it has leaked though, same shit different season with this club!!!

That's fair, I think I missed that one as I was on my way to Leiston to watch Coalville.

We're gonna lose him properly soon so I don't think it'll hurt to see how we do without him in the team for a bit. Either through his own choice or the managements, this jogging around Vardy is nowhere near as good as the hard working pressuring Vardy.

For me he doesnt have the same edge or confidence when he's not hunting defenders down and using his blistering pace.

If hes gonna be anonymous in most games then its going to hinder us in the long run.

It was not just isolated to Monday’s game, when was the last time Vardy played well he just doesn’t seem arsed and hasn’t for a while

Would be a very bold move dropping Vardy.

He is still our talisman and we looked fairly blunt against Liverpool without him.

On the other hand he hasn't hit the heights of last season and was atrocious against Arsenal.

Sooner or later he wont be our main man and in a way we do need to get away from our over reliance on him.

He still has a part to play of course but Leicester needs to be prepared for the post-Vardy era.

Makes giving him that new 4 year deal until he’s 35 a bit daft now then.

Precisely ........ another decision that was clearly not Puel’s ........ we are told that he wasn’t on board with all the transfers in during the summer ......

Could be the Moretti talking but he's clearly tasked Vardy to temper his  "look for every over the top ball" style for a less mobile "occupy the centre halves" style which doesn't get the best out of him. Vardy's effectiveness has been stunted by Puel's boring system and now he's paying the price.

That before or after his 20 goals?

Maybe a good decision. An angry Jamie Vardy is always very effective.

I like it. The manager is in control and not afraid to make big decisions based on form. **** whoever leaked Vardy’s anger. I hate player power. Alex Ferguson would be patting Puel on the back for this.

Lost 4 of our last 6, so potentially 5/7 tomorrow, can't see him surviving that.

Or won 4 of the last 8 (league), or won 6 of the last 10 (all comps). But, you count from the place that best served your agenda

I was quite close to the touchline (in the Arsenal end) when Vardy came over to Puel before he left the pitch. Something didn’t look good about the exchange. Like there was disbelief between them. Vardy’s body language if he was saying he was ill wasn’t clearly saying the same thing. The exchange between them just looked a bit weird. It wouldn’t surprise me if Puel came away from that feeling pissed off. Of course I don’t know what was said and it is possible Vardy was genuinely ill.  But it did stick in my memory as being peculiar. Maybe Puel couldn’t believe what he was hearing after making his subs.
