Helicopter crash

Where has it said they was alive?

There was someone on TalkSport this morning, on with Alan Brazil, who claimed that those inside were telling the police officers (who were apparently trying to get the doors open) to stand back.  I’m not sure who this person was (I turned on half way through), but he was implying the occupants knew it was going to explode.

You know what though, I’m sure you have to display some caution when accounts like this emerge.

I’m still gutted for all the LCFC family.

Yeah there's nothing official about this. Eyewitness accounts of dramatic events like this are notoriously unreliable - people are in shock and their recollection of events is not always accurate (not that they are being deliberately untruthful, but the traumatic event causes them to recall incorrect details).

EDIT:

Sea of tributes to Leicester City owner

A sea of tributes have been left outside Leicester City's King Power Stadium as fans continue to mourn the death of owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Mr Vichai, two members of his staff, the pilot and a passenger were killed when a helicopter crashed outside the stadium on Saturday night.

Under his ownership, the Foxes won the Premier League in 2016, having started the season as 5,000/1 outsiders.

Nursara Suknamai, Kaveporn Punpare, pilot Eric Swaffer and his partner Izabela Roza Lechowicz also died in the crash.

Just a reminder if anyone witnessed the horrible events unfolding or has footage, please contact the local police. You could be crucial to the investigation.

I'm glad the flight data recorders have been recovered (I don't think its a requirement for light aircraft and helicopters to have them?). Just hope the data is in good shape after the inferno.

"A team of AAIB inspectors and support staff travelled to Leicester on Saturday night, with further inspectors travelling yesterday morning. Last night, the police said they believe that tragically all five people on board the aircraft died in the accident.

"We have inspectors here from all four air accident investigation disciplines: engineering, operations, flight data and human factors.

"We recovered the digital flight data recorder (voice and data) on Sunday afternoon and one of our inspectors travelled back to Farnborough with the recorder the same evening. Today, our inspectors in Farnborough will start working on the recorder, which was subject to intense heat as a result of the post-accident fire.

"Our inspectors are continuing to work with the police on site. We expect to be here until the end of the week, at which point we will transport the wreckage to our specialist facilities in Farnborough for more detailed examination. In the meantime, we are still gathering evidence as part of our investigation.

"Witnesses to the accident, particularly with videos or photographs, are urged to contact Leicestershire Police on 101, quoting incident number 546 of 27 October 2018."

I believe it was Geoff Peters, horrific account.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

His legacy must go on, and we must forever hold him dear for what he brought to us all.

Lets hope so because that's the best chance of determining what actually happened. Data recorders are not required on all light aircraft and helicopters but this one did have them. They're built to withstand post crash fires etc and the modern ones record the data on microchips rather than the old magnetic tape type so lets hope they can recover the data.

It makes me sick that some people that call themselves fans of West Ham United are taking the piss on West Ham forums.

No fcuking respect, scum of the earth.

Most are not though, remember that. There's a couple of dicks on the Spurs forum, but the majority are respectful.

Don’t get angry at them. Pity them. They’re owned by the Dildo Brothers and run Karren Brady who’s too busy brownosing Alan Sugar and slagging off Vichai in her column to actually do a decent job.

Vichai put his heart and soul into Leicester City and saw it as his duty to grow the club.

Gold and Sullivan are utterly clueless, classless and have managed to rob West Ham of it’s heart by moving it to an unsuitable stadium in a deal that defines financial unfair play. They’re a tinpot club with tinpot fans who belong in the Championship or lower.

Yes indeed, sad individuals but I think we all know that they are in the minority. I have been quite overwhelmed by the strength of support from the broader football family. In particular shirts and flowers at the scene from Forest and Derby supporters which I think is fantastic. Fair play to them and thank you to those real football supporters whoever they are. I'm convinced that the family will get at least a little bit of solace from the fact that their loved one was so very much appreciated and that what he did was not taken for granted.
