A statue of Vichai

When the time is right in the coming weeks/months, as a footballing family, we must come together to speak to the club to ask for permission for us to erect a statue of the greatest owner in world football.  

Paid for by the fans. The memory of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha will never fade.

I'm not familiar of what the process would be so anybody with information or knowledge would be great. 

 

I expect the next few weeks will be a very difficult time for everyone connected to the club, so it would probably be advisable to hold off for a while.

As much as I agree it can't solely be about 1 man, 4 others lost their lives too and equally their passing must be remembered too. A statue is great, but not befitting of them all.

The statue idea is a way of honouring the remarkable achievements he's brought to the club and his impact on the city as a whole, it's not supposed to be a memorial to the crash though there undoubtedly should be something along those lines too.

To be honest I would even suggest renaming the stadium as the Kun Vichai stadium. This is what he did for us:

 

- Cleared all of our debt

- Turned his stake into shares so he couldn't take his money out of the club.

- Got us into the Premier League

- Won the Premier League

- Took the club to the Champions League Quarter Finals
- Invested in a 100M brand new training academy

- Stadium Improvements on the way
- Donated millions to local hospitals and other causes
- And much more

He was basically there every match, and always tried to improve the club. Other than the people who first founded the club, I don't think it's over-exaggerating to say that this man did more for the club and arguably even the city than anyone else in history.

I think there can definitely still be a memorial to all of them but also with a statue to Vichai.

King Power are considering a statue/mural and also in favour of re-naming the stadium to 'Khun Vichai Stadium'.

 

That would be extremely fitting.

I'm absolutely happy to get the ball rolling on this (when the time is right) 

But we will definitely need to get a few of us from this forum to set the project up and work with the fans. 

 

If you're interested in helping in anyway getting this into motion (or know anyone who would have better knowledge of how)

Its important we give it time before we approach the club though.

Id absolutely give money to this. Although the club has the money to fund this, if possible they should allow it to be funded by the fans, to show our love towards the greatest owner football has ever seen and will probably ever see! I cant ever see anyone achieving so much with a football club of our size as well as the work he has done in the whole community of Leicester. Far too early to think about now but definitely something that we should consider as a fanbase when the time is right.

Yes up for this idea. Personally i'd have one of Vichai and Ranieri holding the Premier league trophy aloft between them. It would be a fitting tribute to our greatest achievement.

Vichai and his family did more for this Club than anyone in our long history and a permanent monument to this fantastic, generous and much loved and respected man would be so fitting.
