Vardy 100.

After Saturdays crucial winning goal vs Chelsea. Vardy now has 68 Premier League goals...Can he potentially become part of the 100 club?

 

Hes scored at an incredible rate, averaging over 16 goals a season over the last 4 years(this season not ending yet), for a club who barring one season, competes at mid-lower mid table and doesn't create that many chances.

On top of the fact that he has an incredible record vs the top 6, both home and away(He has scored at least 1 goal from open play at each of White Hart Lane, Wembley, Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford, The Emirates. Anfield and The Ethiad) Shows to me this guy isn't just a flat track bully and can score vs the best defences and teams(He scored vs Sevilla and Atheletico as well by the way).

 

Im really hoping he can get there. Doing that would cap off a great career and great for one of our own to get to the milestone!

 

This just follows the page about Vardy wanting to leave and/or our manager not wanting to build our team around Vardy. IMO hes got at least 2/3 more years and we should keep him here until he retires. lets show appreciation for our LEGEND

Can he? Yes. Will he? Dunno, I hope so.

 

He's pretty much contracted until he retires, and Puel (despite what others think) knows he's the best striker at the club, but also probably knows that he is likely to be past his physical peak now. So he (or any subsequent manager) needs to handle our asset with care.

Not sure about prem goals but he has 95 for Leicester so he's near the Leicester 100 club.

No if he's not performing to the standard then get rid. He's been paid and rewarded very well for what he's done. To much sentiment on here. 

 

Yes he's been brilliant for us but you can't keep players past the sell by date. The team has to evolve and move on. Tbh the sooner that sides gone the better. Everyone a hero but they can't be treated as gods.

Became joint 8th all time goal scorer for us. 

He should be targeting Lineker’s 103 by the end of the season. If he hits Lochhead’s 113 (that would see him 5th) that’s incredible considering what football was in that era. 

 

The only two guys he ain’t catching for us is Chandler and Rowley

I personally doubt it. Injuries and fitness have really killed his pace and form this year, I'd be surprised if we get another couple of top seasons out of him. 

 

I desperately hope he does but it'd be a shock.

Be very satisfying for his Wikipedia page if he tops 100 league goals for us, which I think he will have done by about this time next season.

I expect he'll probably slow down and end up on 85 - 95 in the Premier League. When was the last Leicester player to score 100 goals for us (He's on 88 in the league and 95 in all competitions).

He's already slowed down this season, I can't see it personally would love it if he did, I reckon if he reaches it, it won't be in a Leicester shirt

Vardy’s record against the top 6 is no fluke. Teams that throw bodies forward and leave space in behind, will get banged

Vardy is still brilliant and I think he's more adaptable than many people think. I don't think his pace shows any sign of abating yet, but even if it does I think he can still reinvent himself and keep banging the goals in. I'm gonna say it now, he'll get those 100 PL goals.

No idea what you have to do to be god like in your estimations. But in mine, they are god like and deserve a red carpet for the entire time they want to be here.

 

Play to Vardy's strengths and he'll keep hitting form in the prem. I honestly think he will be like Defoe, just keeps going. He reads the game so well that it's not just his pace that gets him to the ball first. I hope he stays here and retires with us, he is a club legend and I hope he stays forever.

Would love to see him do the 100 premier league goals, but it seems that age is catching up on him so unless his conversion ratio goes back to the his peak, can’t see it I’m afraid. On a different note, what’s happening with the Vardy movie, has it been canned?

If he stays injury free and watch his diet, he could manage it but he has to adapt his game, a bit like C.Ronaldo did. He can't rely only on out-running defenders anymore.

He will hit 100 for us which is still impressive, considering his late uprising. Big ask to hit 100 PL goals though I reckon......

I don’t see why he can’t reach it. He may of lost a slight amount of pace off his absolute peak but he is without doubt our best striker and we are so much more of a threat when he’s playing, so it’s not a sentimental thing.

 

He has 6 this season and been filled with injury’s and horrible incidents that have made the football second nature for us as a club, and rightly so.

However a fully fit Vardy playing can easily get 15 this season which would put him on 77. 1 decent season next year at 32/33 and he can get into the 90s easily.

maybe by the 20/21 season he will be a bit part(hopefully not) but his last 1/2 years being a sub and occasional starter, he could get 100. It’s a realistic but challenging target, but would complete his legacy/story.

premier league medal and longest scoring run is unreal already, to add 100 goals would put him down as a Prem great and not just a LCFC great, and that would be what he deserves.

i really hope he gets it and I don’t see why he can’t.

he has at least 1 1/2 seasons where he’s close enough to his peak to be our main starter.

we won’t get a better striker in our existence imo so we should remember him and this forever.

Vardy Mahrez and Kante will in 100 years time still be our best ever players/team.

To reach 100 PL goals Vardy is probably going to need around 8/9 goals a season for the next 3 seasons after this. At 31 now that’ll take him to the age of 34, I would say it’s more than possible. Even in our first season back in the PL Vardy managed 5 league goals, and we were really struggling for most of that campaign.
