Man City H Match Thread

Another defensive set-up.  It worked well enough against Chelsea as despite all their possession they had few real chances in the match.  We had fewer but took one with aplomb.  So we got away with one a bit but to go more attacking would have permitted many of the best players in the PL to have more chances against us.  I've no problem with the same formation and personnel today, we still start as underdogs but are less likely to get thrashed than we would if we were more expansive, and we could just nick a point if things go our way.

A few weeks ago we were all not happy with Ndidi and Mendy as they were too similar but now we’ve got three of them in the middle, we will create even less than before. If we’re going three in the middle we may as well play Maddison as one of the three and have another attacker out there

Give both Chilwell and Riccardo more freedom to provide width and creative.

A bit like the scene from Star Wars at the Rebel base, gather round everyone - I have detected a weakness in their infrastructure. Dink a ball over the top, half way between the keeper and Vardy / their CB. Keeper charges out, mistimes challenge, red, ten men, pen, all set for a kind of golfing handicap situation for remainder of match. Could get a 1-1 even.

The force is with us (due to too many mince pies).

Wouldn't be surprised if we got beat but would be surprised if we get thrashed.

Danger is Wes and Harry get banged through lack of pace.  This is game where mobility would be handy.
