Foodbank collection 12th January Southampton home fixture

If anyone is short of food in this day of age, then I think that they must have some bigger problems.

Perhaps it would be better if these problems wee addressed first and foremost.

We have all heard the old proverb about the fish.

Yep, know this one!

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day.

Give a man a motorbike and he'll ride 100 miles and eat his fish and chips at the seaside!

Joking aside it's a brilliant thing to do and will attend early.

Do you realise how many children are growing up on foodbanks, without adequate nutrition? Have you spoken to any young mothers? There are children turning up to school with ripped clothing, without adequate clothing in winter. When I was young mothers went to support groups to get toys for their kids. Now they go for food. And there is adequate food in this country. Go to a homeless shelter. They throw away food donations from Pret and Starbucks at the end of the day. Restaurants throw away tonnes of food. There isn't a lack of food. There's a lack of money. And in the last ten years it's got worse, a lot worse.

Don’t want to get political, but I’m so gutted things like this have to happen, in spite of the fact it highlights how caring people can really be. I really hope a lot gets donated :)

That went well ? I'll slip some money in lads partly cause it's a good cause and partly as a thank you for all the good work union fs have done towards the atmosphere.

I carnt help but think that some of the people using these food banks abuse it,

whilst queing there smoking,

got a pet dog,

likely they’ll even have been able to afford tickets for the game on Saturday,

if the cut out the top two points I’ve made they could afford to eat,

great effort from union fs and the point I’m making about people abusing it is by no way a criticism of the people that arrange these footbanks

You have to be referred I think? You can't just rock up and say I'll have that, that and that.
